Does anyone have any information on DVC discounts for a Disney Wedding. I have heard they give better rates to members. I have not yet called the Disney Wedding Coordinator they assigned to me, as I wanted to do a little preliminary research first. Any information would be helpful! Thanks.

I've never heard of that before although I think they work out something regarding number of room nights that you might use on points vs. payment. Let us know what you find out! (And congratulations.)

My daughter got married at Disney on April1, 2000. At that time it cost $2000 for DVC members. That cost was for the basics of wedding coordinaator, wedding, cake with champagne, and the people to serve that to up to 20 people. The cost increases if you invite more people than that. You photographer was an extra $700 or so, and if you want Mickey and Minnie there it's an additional charge, $750 (??). the carriage ride was outrageous, but the actual cost escapes me. My daughter says she thinks the cost was an additional $2000, but we don't remember. If you want to get married at the Wedding Pavillion, it's also about that much. Since my daughter got married at Yacht Club Pavillion, it cost $2000. This was the easiest way in the world to have a wedding, since the coordinator handles everything, all you have to do is tell her what you want, and it gets done. They send a limo to your resort to pick you up on the wedding day, and to the other resorts that your guests may be at, and bring you to the wedding location. The coordinator meets you at the door, and leads you thru the whole thing. They even instruct the photographer and the waiters who will be serving everyone the cake and champagne. Of course, $2000 does not include the cost of the rooms of any guests, or flowers, or wedding dinner. However, the coordinator does arrange this for you, if you like. It's a wonderful, relaxing experience for everyone--can you imagine anyone saying that about a wedding?Hope this helps :jester:

Thanks so much! My fiance and I (well mostly me) have been trying to figure out where we should get married. We want it to be a special place, somewhere that has a personal sentiment for us. We've been DVC members now for 3 years and we love Disney. I can't think of a place that even comes close. I've heard that Disney weddings can be expensive, so I was a little intimidated, but from what you and others tell me - it's worth the bit of extra cost. I want to be able to enjoy the magic of the day and not stress out about all the details.

Thanks for the tips- I think I'm ready to call my Coordinator!!!!

I'm so excited.

Fairy tails do come true...it can happen to you...:)

My sister had a fairy tale wedding in Feb 00. It was wonderful! The staff were really great. They will do as little or much as you want. Her coordinator was Janice I think. The wedding was so much fun for everyone. The cermony was at the wedding pavilion and the reception was at the BW.

Good Luck!
