I just got this email. Intriguing.

I have a cruise fully booked with dinners etc for 9/15 out of Port Everglades on the Dream.

I may inquire. Very interesting. 🚢 🚢 :earsgirl:

I guess I should be relieved my 8/25 sail is not included in this so as not to have a lot of DVCers onboard... But that does mean it'll be busier in general I suppose.

Bringing my negativity into this thread, sorry. These kind of things are why many people dont think buying DVC direct is worth it.
This kind of offer isn't really expected to draw people to buy DVC. It's a way of giving those owners a little something extra. Would you rather only the Disney Visa folks receive this offer and not DVC? You'd probably complain about that, too.

No but maybe make the offer not 100% identical. I am both DVC and Visa so I would get the discount either way.

There were 2 threads that were the same and I thought I posted this comment on the DVC side I guess I posted here in the DCL thread, so I can see how my comment may not come across the same way to all people since there are many debates amongst the DVC crowd as far as perks to buying direct with DVC, thats where my comment was intended to go. Sorry to bring my complaining over here to you.

I already have a cruise in late October on the Treasure. In my (new) quest to hit every ship (and make my way to Platinum), I'm still intrigued by this offer.

Were I interested in an inside cabin, about how much are those three day weekends costing for two adults in late August?

Isn't that typical with Disney? AP discounts and DVC discounts and Visa discounts all tend to be the same when they overlap.
Yes, which is why DVC people debate/discuss if the perks of buying direct is worth since you can get the same deal for having an AP or Visa. Its really more a debate of buying DVC resale vs direct not really a debate about become a dvc member as a whole.

The debate is simple. Buying DVC from Disney is a losing financial proposition. Buying resale is certainly cheaper and for 99% of people they will never recover the upfront cost difference in any extras they get as a result.
