DVC discount for resort reservation (cash)

We are new DVC members so I'm still learning all the in's and out's...

Just wondering, is there a DVC discount for stays at the WDW resort hotels? If so, how do you book them and what is the typical discount?

Also, are there annual pass discounts for the same?

If there are both, what is typically better?

You can get a 25% discount on DVC rooms when you pay cash through Member Services, subject to availability. So not guaranteed.

AP rooms discounts are available through regular Disney reservations, not DVC Member Services.

The current passholder offer for resort stays ranges from 15% to 35% off depending on resort and includes Memory Maker for free.
