For hotels, do DVC members get the 25% discount too?

No, just DVC resorts. We are staying in AKL for 5 nights in August in addition to our usual DVC vacation. We got a great rate of $179/night for a savannah view. I have said this before but feel it's worth repeating as it seems like I'm seeing new names on this board.

Watch out for the so-called great DVC cash rate. More times than not they are not so great. If you have APS, look into discounts from that. Also if you are DC members look into that too. In fact, look into every possible discount rate before you automatically assume that the DVC rate is the best. Often times it is not.

Another thing I just thought of! Remember! Housekeeping is NOT included when you use the DVC cash rate. I don't know about anyone else, but although we LOVE not having daily housekkeeping when we stay in a 2 bedroom, I really want it in a hotel room. If you really want housekeeping remember to add that cost on to the DVC cash rate.

I just read my post and realized that it's not going to make much sense to most members!! Boy that's what I get for not having my coffee this morning!!LOL!! I was personally reliving my experience of staying in a Vero Inn room. We used a DVC cash discount and had no housekkeeping and found out later that we could have saved money with another type of discount. Lack of housekeeping would not be much of a factor for any other DVC resorts, studios, 1 bedrooms, etc. will have access to laundry areas. Inn rooms at Vero do to, but it's a hotel and the laundry areas are not easily accessible.
