DVC Dining Discounts

I am making a quick one day trip to DL. No lodging involved as we are literally just driving through town and going to stop in for the day. Are the DVC discounts available for day visitors or only if staying on-site? I don't want to ask for something I'm not entitled to, such as lounging by the pool at the villa.

Discounts are not connected to a resort stay, just show your member card. However, you can't use the pool, you need a room key. Even if you are staying on points, there is no pool hopping at DL.

That's what I was hoping, but the Portable Perks said something about showing your Key to the World and your Member Card. I guess I can try and see what happens, but I don't want to do something that isn't allowed.

I have used the DVC dining discount many times when staying at the Swan. They have never asked for a KTTW card, only my DVC card. For example, in AK, our favorite restaurant, Yak & Yeti, doesn't take TIW discount but does have a DVC discount. We just show our card and the discount is applied.

I would agree - in fact when they didn't print DVC on my room key one time I asked them to fix and they told me places ask for your membership card now vs room key so only the actual member can get the discount. You shouldn't have a problem

I was at DL last week. I did stay at DLH. My key card did not have DVC Member cause I was not staying on points. I had to show my DVC member card to get discounts. DLH gave me a DL portable perks of DVC discounts. However, I did NOT get DVC discounts at some restaurants/counter service. They said that my brochure was not up to date.

We were in DL last year late June. We got a 10% discount when getting food. Not all places offer it, but it never hurts to ask. They WILL make you show ID. We didn't stay on DL property, we stayed across the street.
