DVC- Dining and UT

Hello DVCers!
I just want to go ahead and confirm what I think is right, before I go ahead and hit the old "send" button. I'm heading to BWV in August with my sister and trying to help her keep things budget friendly.

My dad is a DVC member and we are using his points. We will be calling to add the Disney Dining Plan tomorrow. (yes, our ADRs have been made )

My question is, can I purchase my park tickets through Under Cover Tourist for this trip? I know that with a MYW package you have to link dining, park tickets, and room all together, but I THINK i recall that DVC works a little differently and the Dining Plan is actually linked to the room reservation, and completely seperate from the park tickets.

Can someone confirm whether or not purchasing park tickets through UT is a good idea??

Sure you can get your tickets anywhere. But you'll have to pay for the dining plan when it is added.

We have always paid for dining plan when we checked in. Never when we added to reservation. Unless I am misreading your post or things have changed since last Oct

Yes, unfortunately things have changed. You now have to pay for the dining plan when you add it to your reservation instead of at check in. I'm planning to add ours just a week ahead of our trip so I'm not paying $700+ to eat months before I plan to eat!
