Someone please enlighten me... if using pts. to go on DCL is transportation provided from Orlando airport to where cruise starts. I have seen reports that have got me wondering about this. We see the DCL buses at the airport so I assume those are for anyone going on the cruise. If this is not the case for DVCers using pts to cruise then a big WHY NOT?

You are welcome to purchase DCL ground transfers (I think it's $49 per person). I was instructed to call DVC back if I wanted those added. My conf. letter also states they can be purchased right at the MCO DCL location, but I think I prefer to do it ahead of time, since I like the baggage handling perks with it!
I recently posted a question regarding if I could call DCL direct to add them (see 10/25???dates).

Ground transfers are charged when booking through DCL as well, it just is not as visable if you're booking the whole deal through them! natt

If you request a cash rate quote for a DCL cruise- it will NOT include ground transfers unless you request it. The transfers are extra- whether it's a cash reservation or a DVC reservation.

Transfers are available both from MCO and from selected resorts at WDW.

Transfers are also available from towncar services, taxis and shuttle services.

We are cruising for the first time on points and we purchased the DCL bus transportation in the same phone call that we reserved the cruise on points. I think it was about $50 or so. We used the bus the last time when we cruised on cash. They give you luggage tags that you put on before you leave home and once you check in at your departure airport to begin your trip, you don't have to touch your luggage again until you find it outside your stateroom later that evening! This is a definite plus! On the bus they show you a video about the cruise with different videos for going and coming home. We think its worth it, no rental cars, parking, etc.

We've done this - definitely consider using the optional Disney transportation, it's worth every penny - no having to even go to baggaige claim - they pull your bags and bring them directly to the ship. The buses are NOT WDW park transportation buses, they are the tour style ones with the 2x2 big cushy seats - a pleasant ride over. And on the way back, if your airline is a participant in this, you can check your bags and get your boarding passes right as you leave the DCL terminal, no having to do anything at Orlando airport other than go thru security and go to your gate :D

I think everybody answered my questions with additional info I hadnt thought of asking. We are planning on a cruise with pts next Nov(hoping Hurricane season is over). This will help when we make ressies. A big THANK YOU!
