On another thread of mine about car decals, someone mentioned they had picked up an ornament at WL. I'm wondering if they meant a DVC ornament?!?

Oh, I love ornaments! I pick one up every trip.

Is there a DVC ornament they are now selling? I haven't seen this before!

Thanks!

They had SSR ornaments when we were there. They were round, ceramic discs (about 2" in diameter) with an image from the resort, the resort name and issue year. It was $20 or 22, and I just couldn't bring myself to buy one.

Thanks tjkraz. I have collected those for awhile. I now have one for each of the DVC "parent" resorts. Like BW (They don't have a BWV.), etc.
Actually last time we went to OKW they were out and hubby found me one online cause I wanted the correct year's date on it.

I wish I could go back and get the WDW resort ornaments we don't have, but there is no way I could find the dates to match up, plus they don't make a Dixie Landings anymore!

I was thinking maybe there was an ornament that said DVC specifically???

My parents were staying at OKW the week before x-mas and they picked me up a DVC ornament in the shape of a snow flake with the DVC logo in the center that you can spin around. It cost $10. The girl at the cash register told them when they were purchasing it that it was selling out fast. So they went and got one for themselves as well.

We got one of the ornaments also. My wife bought it for me when we were there in December. The ornament ended up as the star on top of our Christmas tree.

I just picked up the snowflake DVC ornament this weekend. The price was $10.00

Artist's Palette @ SSR had both the decoration tjkraz saw and the snowflake one that many others have purchased. I believe the SSR ornament was dated -- did not see a similar ornament at BCV, but they are rather limited for space in the temporary location.

OK, now I'm disappointed that I missed the snowflake. :(

We did get the talking monorail refrigerator magnet this time, though. :)

I can see how the idea that one saves money with DVC is a complete and utter myth. If I wasn't a DVC member would I have purchased the Disney Vacation Club Member jacket at Artist's Palette?? NOOOOOO! Would I have even known to ask about the members only pins? NOOOOO! (BTW -- got the 2004 Tinkerbell pin and the Mickey "Epcot" pin). Would I have ogled the DVC member mugs, luggage tags, shot glasses, tumblers, shirts, sit-upons, etc., etc.? Hardly likely.

I think this is going to cost me a lot of money -- just because I love being a DVC member. Now, if they would only open up a DVC online store to serve our addiction. I mean, our deepest needs.

Where did you find those? I looked all over for them. I already have one, but I was thinking of buying one as a gift and I never saw them for sale anywhere during the trip.

I did manage to get the special Old Key West surprise holiday pin thanks to a couple of very helpful DISers.

I am now also totally bummed that I missed this, as I collect snowflake ornaments :sad2: Agree w/above poster; why can't there be DVC merchandise offerings online???

When I saw it, I knew I had to grab it! We saw them when we visited last May, and never got around to buying. After I returned, these boards were abuzz with folks who had just bought the magnet and others who couldn't find them because they were sold out.

Honestly I had forgotten all about them.

But suddenly they were staring us right in the face at the SSR gift shop. It has this big revolving carousel with different types of items on hooks and so forth. They had 4 or 5 of the monorails, so we bagged one of them.

Now that I think back, I don't recall seeing them anywhere else during our trip. Every time I read a report of someone unearthing a hard-to-find souvenir, it always seems to be at a resort gift shop.

Perfect! I'll be on the lookout for the DVC ornament then.

AND that monorail magnet. Hubby would LOVE that!

I am the person who originaly mentioned the ornaments on the car decal thread. It was the snowflake ornament I bought, but it was at BWV, not WL. I got my car decals at WL.

Darn! We were just there a week ago and I missed this! Where did you get the ornament? Going again in a couple of weeks and maybe, by some miracle, I could still find one.

Thanks CoolDisneyCat.

So you didn't see the snowflake ornament at WL then? (That is where we are staying.)

Thanks!

I just saw the snowflake DVC ornament at Artist Pallete just last night. I didn't see one for the resort only though. May have to make a stop by there on the drive out to Epcot today since we are checking out.
