DVC Chit Chat Thread

This is old, but I missed it for some reason.

We used to be anti spirit Jersey…. then we learned to just buy a size smaller… now they are Core evening wear. 🤣
I always wear my spirit jersey on travel days!
I wasn’t a spirit jersey fan either until I bought a NASA one in Tomorrowland, after my first ride on Tron.!!

And now it is my travel gear everywhere!

This weekend at DL we saw a spirit jersey and I went “aaaack, it’s my two least favorite Disney merch trends combined in one spirit jersey” but now for the life of me I cannot remember what it was.

I did notice that almost all of the Disneyland 70th stuff was 30% off, which you could stack with AP discount. My daughter loved the kids 70th Spirit Jersey but it was sold out in all sizes larger than kids small.

Good morning everyone! Work has been extremely rude by being busy so I had a lot of catching up to do last night...like 30 pages worth. I am getting closer to my September trip, ready to buy my MNSSHP tickets on the 5th and will be booking next month for my first Flower & Garden visit for May 2027. Wow...booking a second DVC stay when I haven't even been on my first official home visit is such a great feeling! Hope you all have a great weekend!
I've been trying to book but I keep getting forced to the UK site! There doesn't appear to be a book tickets option yet!
Can you post a link when you go to book please?

We've got a "bonus" trip planned for June. We have active APs and I have some Club Wyndham points laying around, so I grabbed a Bonnet Creek villa. We'll hit a couple of the VIPassholder restaurants. Grab a charcuterie board at Geo-82. This is a low-key, chill, relaxed visit, hanging around the Bonnet pool complexes.

And every third day or so I go looking at some way to spend another substantial chunk of money:
  • "You know, I've never seen the current Cirque show."
  • "After hours at Studios? That might be fun."
  • "Hey, the Blue Man theater just opened up the road. Poncho section!"
  • "I wonder who is playing at House of Blues? Of course, we should probably get seats..."
  • "I mean, we don't drink, but I am eligible for Wicked Wine Down..."
  • "After hours at MK? That might be fun."

Oh man, after doing an After Hours at MK last year, I will personally always incorporate one into the trip if it’s on offer!

You are not helping.

Left shoulder devil: "But it's summer! Nights are so much nicer! And it's your last night, so you can stay out late!"
Right shoulder angel: "It's $200+. Per person."
I know. I’m sorry! I take it back. It was absolutely terrible. We did not ride Barnstormer as the only four people on it, four times in a row without getting off, laughing like hyenas the whole time. (Actually, that scenario is likely a turnoff for some people. Me? One of my favorite memories of that trip.)

That is very close to what Coaster Enthusiasts refer to as a Zen Ride---when you are the only person on the train.

Why "Zen Ride"? Becuse you are "one with the coaster."

I'm sure it would be fantastic. And, if this were our "normal" trip, it might be one of the Splurges for the trip. (I usually pick one or two things like that.) But, it's a Bonus Trip, not a Normal Trip. Totally the cherry on top. Cherries don't need an extra cherry.

Sent you the link via IM and if that doesn't work you could try Magic Unlocked but not sure they are selling them yet but assume so. Also, be sure you are logged in or you won't see the option to purchase. I wasn't logged in first and all I could see was "coming soon".

Our TA secured our MNSSHP 10/31 tickets for us this morning! They can do it for you during the resort reservation window as long as they have your resort reservation number. Our TA gives us some back in the form of Disney Gift Cards which, since 10/31 is not eligible for any discounts, is a nice little bonus for going through a TA.

Where are you planning to eat with the AP discounts? I am struggling to decide where to go.

What about more whip cream though...?

Do you use a TA with a D\/C stay?
I always feel like I’d be wasting their time. And not getting much out of paying full price for tix, etc.

I don’t use them to help me book my DVC stay or with anything else like dining reservations or lightning lanes. But with park tickets of any sort, my understanding is that it will be the same price going through them and then, rather than Disney getting all the money, you TA gets some and, depending on the TA, they may give you a little bit of what they make off of the sale. I think that is essentially how places like unlockedmagic.com or undercovertourist.com are able to offer discounted park tickets.

Since I have a good relationship with a TA, I’d rather let them make a little bit than one of those bigger places. And, I’m not sure those big places will help you during the resort reservation priority window for MNSSHP which you probably want to use for a date like 10/31.

Was at MK on Saturday. Off and on raining/pouring all day. Not a good day for the MK rides.

Multiple rides were off-line due to the weather, but even on top of that, Tiana was shut-down early in the day, Buzz was evacuated right before our LL was set to start (and started up again about 2 hours later, when of course, the LL's were no longer available), and Haunted Mansion had something seriously wrong - to the point that MDE showed a pop-up that was apologizing for it being shut-down all day and the entire front facade was covered with the big cloth curtain with a picture of HM on it.

On the plus side, HEA still happened, and I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality at Crystal Palace - I hadn't been there in at least a decade. Food still not great, but much better than I remember.
