does anyone know, what price of a point, they were able to purchase into BEACH CLUB AND OTHER DVC resorts, for??

i was shocked by how many cast members owned in DVC
and especially shocked how many DVC guides,owned as much 700 DVC Pionts

so you are telling me that if BEACH CLUB VILLA was $74 per point with $10 MB

A DISNEY CAST MEMBER, would purchase for $63 per point?

sounds like great deal, do you know by any chance, are they required to hold, for more years, than most DVC Members

i.e.

it seems like at $63 per point, you might actually profit by resaling your DVC points, on the resale market.

but of course, disney might frown on that.

It is one of the nice perks for the CMs. I am happy that the insiders like the program enough to join. The CMs are the primary reason we enjoy DVC and Disney so much.

I am a DVC owner and a Disney Cast Member. The discount is the only difference there is from anyone else owning. No other stipulations.

At $74.00 per point it would be

$74.00 - 15% discount = $62.90 per point

$62.90 - $10 MB per point = $52.90 per point

Yes, it is a nice benefit. It is the reason I purchased OKW and then added on to BCV and am considering Saratoga Springs. If I were to ever sell my points, I am sure I would come out ahead.

I was just at The Disney Store and the Manager suggested that I come in tomorrow because they were having a job fair.

What type of position would qualify me for a CM discount?

Could someone let me know, by PM if you have to.

I never gave it much thought-I stay home with my children but she said that they are hiring holiday help and a few part time positions (permanent).

Any CM at a Disney Store is eligible for the discount, even if you are just there as a casual (seasonal) CM. I was a casual when I bought an add on a few years ago (and then was a CM for a while after also). And I'm hoping to go back in a month or so and might add on again.....

RweTHEREyet, I'm sure you would never sell so I'm not saying this to you, just so everyone else knows the rules: CMs can't profit from the CM discount (i.e. buying items and selling them on eBay). I'm sure no one ever breaks the rules (she said with her tongue in her cheek looking at all the Disney pin sales on eBay) but if they do and are caught then they lose their job.

I must agree that the CM discount is why we bought in. While CMs can often get half price rates for hotels (which got me hooked on Deluxe resorts!!!) we bought into OKW at $67 per point with $10 MB and the CM discount -- about $49 per point. Best purchase we've ever made and definitely the nicest perk given that it's from a part-time job at the mall. We're on the waitlist now for another 50-75 points (depends how much I can save by the time the waitlist comes in ).

Yes, as long as you are a permanent Disney Store CM -- doesn't matter if you're part-time or full-time. They hire temporary help for the holidays and I don't think they could get the discount.

our son was a college intern for 7 mos.

besides his being able to book us at 50% into animal kingdom last month, we found out that his employment qualified us to buy. we had thought about buying many years ago but never acted on it. we attended the presentation, dragged him with and presto, one more new owner, courtesy of a 15% employee discount.

he may not have made a lot but he sure saved us a ton.
