DVC Cash Room Question

I know someone here will know the answer to this. I have a reservation booked with points for a one week stay next month in July, beginning less than 30 days from now. There is a chance that due to some business I need to attend to, I may need to stay an extra day or two. There is plenty of DVC availability on points at nearly every DVC resort, but absolutely none for cash. Unfortunately, I am almost out of points to use and can't get enough OTU points either, so I'll need a cash room. Do the points rooms ever get turned over to be booked for cash stays this far out or will those (many) DVC rooms just sit empty?

Sorry I don't have the answer to your cash room question @Firepath but have you thought to ask if someone could rent you the points for your additional day(s) you might have to swap rooms but at least you'd have somewhere to lay your head :)

Try Disney's CRO, I'm sure they will fiind you cash rooms, but it will cost lots.

The rooms still available for points are probably also available for cash via MS as "breakage". If you haven't already, call MS and ask. If available, and if MS books for you (with cash), you shouldn't even have to move or check out and back in again (like you'd probably have to do if you booked via DRC/CRO or yourself online). Worth a call IMO. Good luck!

You might be able to get a deal on “distressed” points (points that are expiring soon” either from one of the rental brokers or an owner. Or even pay full rental price will probably be cheaper than cash.

I'd think that they definitely should be available on cash. That's the whole point of breakage - if they aren't booked by 60 days out then they get turned over for breakage.
