DVC Cash Reservation - Payment Question

We are booked on a DVC Cash Reservation through Member Services. (There is not a General Public discount for our travel dates) The deposit was 1 night. We are 49 days out and I called to pay the balance. They said I can't I have to do it at check-in. Is this accurate? Why would they not want to take my money??

So my next question is, I did online check in before I knew this. Will they automatically charge my credit card at check in or will I have the option to pay for the room with another card at check in.

That's how most regular (non DVC) room only reservations are normally paid, one night deposit, balance due at check in. So what you were told seems correct. I know for a regular reservation you can call and pay more, but maybe Member Services has chosen not to do that.

I have never done online checkin, so I can't speak to the other. I am always asked at check in if I want to keep the card I have on file for charging or use something different.
