DVC Cash Availability vs. Points

We currently have a waitlist for Feb.6th-9th. The room that we are waitlisting for, is available via cash. At what point, if any, will they move the room from cash availability to points?

sometimes points rooms are moved to cash inventory for "breakage" at 60 days out. sometimes these rooms can be moved back to points inventory if requested.

but some cash rooms cannot be moved to points inventory (like the ones that are paying for trades like cruises.)

The cash rooms are really a different set of inventory, so they would not be used to fill wait lists.

You will have wait until someone cancels a points available room.

Basic answer - they won't. That inventory doesn't belong to DVC for points. Probably some member traded out for the DCL or some other Disney Collection stay. So Disney Reservation Center sells those points to pay for the non-DVC stay.

Since wait lists are only kept until 30 or 7 days prior to your check in date, you should call to check on availability. If someone cancels less than 7 days prior to check in, that DVC room will not go to a wait list request, but may be available to someone calling.
