Hi all! I will be going to WDW on rented points in December. I currently have ressie confirmed at Saratoga Springs, but in May I want to change it to an Epcot Resort. I would like either BCV or BWV. I will be travelling with a 5 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. Which resort would you choose and why?? I would love to be able to walk to Epcot and MGM, or even take a boat. (although walking to Epcot is key!) Which resort is best? We also love the Beach Theme of the BCV, although we have never stayed there. And Beaches and Cream is AWESOME!

OK, which one would you stay at and why??

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!

I have stayed at both - and they each have great reasons to stay there! Here is what I like about each....

Boardwalk - I love being able to walk around the boardwalk! They have fun games for little kids to play (like a carnival!), music, and an array of good restaurants. I feel like there is so much to do just a short walk away!

Beachclub - The pool here is AWESOME! Although, when we were there, it was extremely crowded all the time! Beaches and Cream is great, and Cape May Cafe has a nice character breakfast. The rooms and DVC areas here are relaxing and quaint. I thought the Beachclub overall was much more relaxing than the boardwalk.

The Beachclub is newer than the Boardwalk - but the rooms are basically the same. I like the themeing of the Beachclub better - but as an adult - love all of the entertainment at the Boardwalk.

So, I guess my vote is the Boardwalk! :flower:

Unless you would be able to get SV BWV, you'll need to rent more points for either BWV or BCV, will that be a problem?

I would pick BWV because of the BW area.

In December, I wouldn't pick BCV just because of the pool. However, if you love B&C so much, go with that, try to get BCV!

Yes, I am aware that I will need additional points. No, it won't be a problem! My friend has the points and will be calling at the 7 month window to change my resort. I am going to have her request BWV standard, which we know will probably not be available!

I am leaning towards Beach Club, mostly because I have heard the BWV is very busy and kind of loud, especially if you have a Boardwalk View. Don't get me wrong, the pool is not the reason I am leaning towards BCV! But then again, I love that there is always something going on, on the Boardwalk. Hmmmmm.....TOUGH DECISION!!!!!!!

Which resort is closer to EPCOT and MGM? Which resort has the easiest access to these parks?

Thanks for the opinions, guys! Any more would be greatly appreciated!!! :teeth:

DH and I had a boardwalk view the last time we went, and we didn't think it was loud at all! I had read on these boards about the noise level...but when I was there, didn't notice a thing! And we went during a busy season - in August! So, it may depend on the exact position of your room.

We have had a BWV and it also wasn't very noisy. The view from your room can be awesome. But if you kids love the pools, the BCV is the way to go because of SAB.You can always hop on the boat or walk around the lake to enjoy the atmoshpere at the Boardwalk.

Well, I am a die-hard BCV fan...but, seriously there is SOO much to do there (my dd is 4). Hurricane Hannas serves the kids' meals in a bucket and shovel which are GREAT for playing in the sand both in and out of SAB. There is a great "kiddie pool" located ON the pirate ship with a smaller kiddie slide. There is a character b'fast with Minnie, Goofy and Chip every morning in Cape May.

But, one of the biggest differences for us between BCV and BWV is that at BCV you are actually on the level with the lake. There is actual beachfront property instead of a boardwalk. This is a huge difference for my dd. We buy LOAVES of bread and feed the ducks at sunset many times during our stay at BCV. The ducks are SOO tame they will come and take the bread out of your hands....and yet, they never bit her once. While she is enjoying feeding the ducks, my parents will get "adult beverages" at Hurricane Hannas, and watch the sunset on the beach.

I like the BWV, but I LOVE the BCV villas....it is the perfect resort for us!!

If it's warm enough to swim, the kids will love the pool at BCV. You can always walk over to the boardwalk. We own at BWV so I am partial to it but my kids loved the BCV pool (when we could pool hop a few years back or if we stay now at BCV). I think it's a longer walk to MGM from either resort. We usually take the boat. It is a bit shorter from BCV to epcot but not that much to make the decision. They are both close enough to Epcot to walk or take the boat and take the boat to MGM (walk if it's nice out and you're not tired ). We love to sit out on the Boardwalk and people watch (which you can do whether or not you stay there). With the small kids I would probably try BCV in case they can use the pool. We did in December.

BCV is much more casual/laid back. Also, it has the BC Marketplace for a fast food meal, or my favorite-the gelato (I highly recommend the pistachio, but there isn't really a bad flavor). And you can't beat the feel of the sand under your toes, either at the beach in front or at the pool area.

We love both and split our stay between the 2 on our last trip and will be again in March. The pools are obviously the big difference, with BCV's being awesome. I think it's great for young ones if you stay over by the sand dune pool. My DD loved playing there when she was younger. Some of the other differences are that the BCV aren't connected to the main lobby and seem quieter. BWV makes you feel like you're right in the middle of things, it's nice to be able to walk out in the evenings and enjoy the BW entertainment. My DH thinks there were more families around BCV. Either are a short walk to Epcot, but we prefer to take the boat to MGM and save our walking for the park :teeth: . Both are wonderful resorts, I guess it just depends on what type of vacation experience you are looking for.

From what you've posted...go w/BCV. If by chance your friend calls and there is no availability at the 7mo. window be sure and waitlist for both properties (and even then...waitlist for both standard and preferred view @ BWV) as that will be your best shot at staying at either one. If the waitlist for one come through and you would have preferred the other...you can start a new waitlist for that one.
