DVC Balcony Question

My wife and I are planning on staying at some different DVC Villas, in particular BWV, SSR and BCV and we were wondering what type of balconies come with the Studios. By this I mean what size are they, are they full-size or not?

So far we stayed at a Studio at OKW and we were very disappointed in the balconies there because not only were they barely large enough for two chairs, they were set back further than the one and two bedroom units.

We also stayed in a Studio at BLT and we were delighted that they all seemed to have full-size balconies.

So again we are only asking about BWV, SSR and BCV and only asking about Studios.

If by full size, you mean running along the whole studio unit like at BLT, then balconies elsewhere are similar although OKWs balcony is actually larger (in width going away from the unit) than any others including BLT.

At BCV, the size of the studio balconies really varies (based on the architectural "look" they wanted at that particular point). I've been in at least 7 different studios there and had balconies ranging in size from tiny, with room for no more than 2 people and the lower part a solid wall, to a triple size balcony, on which I could hold a party for about 25 of my nearest and dearest friends.

Thanks for this insight. I wonder if there is a map of the rooms anywhere which would show the balcony sizes. I guess we juts have to hope for the best whne we stay there.

I seem to remember room view & possibly info on balconies as well on dvc news dot com where you key in info like villa size and view interested in and it gives specifics on area to request, etc. I don't think I can recall any detailed info on balcony sizes for resorts and as others here have mentioned at most resorts it can vary; we had studio at BWV overlooking Luna Park pool and it was so small we could barely open door & ended up putting one chair inside studio to make it easier to do so, and at VWL on a studio stay which overlooked pool we had a balcony just slightly larger than what we had at BWV; neither of these ran the length of studio. If you disliked studio balcony at OKW I think you will find many at other DVCs that are MUCH smaller, especially in terms of width as poster drusba noted.

If you weren't happy with the size of the OKW balconies, you're going to be very disappointed with the majority of the other DVC balconies. OKW has the largest balconies of all, with a few exceptions at BCV and BWV.

AT SSR, I seem to remember a small balcony on the top floors, but if you are on the ground floor, they open up to a beautiful woodsy area. I loved it. Perhaps you can ask for the ground floor?

At the BCV i've always had a moderately small balconey - enough for a couple of chairs and a table. The views are pretty much all the same of trees.

having stayed at all studios at DVC resorts in WDW.

blt is bigger than OKW studio (not the 1 or 2 bedroom only the studio)

most of the others are about the same as OKW studio - although a few a little smaller - BWV.

now there is a room at VWL that does not have a balcony.

think bcv has one too. bcv is definitely the biggest for some studios - most it is around the same size as OKW.

Wanted to mention that the studio balcony at a Savannah View in Kidani was actually quite nice. Not very deep, but longer.
