Is the the blue/white DVC bag that we get when we buy in a good bag to take to the parks? I'm thinking I might use it for carry-on and take it to the parks. If it's inconvenient, I might go in favor of a Bagallini or backpack!

I think the bag is too heavy and big to carry around the parks. It wouldnt fit well in those ride baskets.

It's a great beach tote or travel tote, but i wouldnt carry it around the parks. I used mine on the cruise and it was great for a shopping bag for all my souvenirs (I almost said souvies :rotfl: )

I like the DVC bag and think it would be ok for a carryon, but I personally would find it to be more cumbersome in the parks. I've got 2 kids on the move and we really like having a backpack if we are all going. Truthfully, if it's just me and one kid, I can really manage with a little fanny pack. It's not pretty, I know!

Actually, another concern is that that bag is not waterproof. If it rains or you go on a soaking ride, it could be problematic. Our stuff was all safe and dry inside the Land's End backpack on Kali River Rapids, even though the pack got soaked (it was too big for the center "hole" in the raft).

Pick the Bagallini or backpack! The bag is just too big for the parks. I have seen some take it if they have a stroller. Otherwise, I find that it it just to big for a plane carry on too :confused3 .

Always use my DVC bag as a carry-on, but use a waist pack in the parks. Used to use a small backpack but got tired of taking it on and off to get things out - love the waist pack!

Enjoy! pixiedust:

OFF TOPIC: What is the little bouncing Mickey's with the frosted statement - they are so cute!

I swear i have a permanent indentation in my shoulder from carrying that darn dvc bag! it became a catch-all for everyones junk, not just mine! it doesn't really close good either, so i was always afraid i'd lose something or even worse, someone would snatch something from it. I still use it for a carryon on the plane though, but i switch to a mesh dvc bag i got on the 2003 member cruise for the parks. security loves it cause it's see through!

I opt for the backpack also. I Take it for your carry on and then I put the kids stuff for the plane in the backpack then wehen we get to DVC i empty it.

I vote for back pack. The DVC bag is great for pools or beach. Not at all for parks. It is so big. It will not do well on the rides. :sunny:

We use the DVC bag as our "first day" bag. We carry it on the flight with everything we'll need for the first day. We usually get an early morning flight and use DME, so we won't see our luggage until after a full day in the parks.

The DVC bag is actually large enough to hold the messenger bag we use in the parks, plus an emergency change of clothes, and reading material for the flight. We stick it in a locker at Magic Kingdom in the morning and convert to the smaller bag to walk around.

We also use it when we go to the water parks to carry the towels.

make sure you backpack is very, very light. If not go get one at Kmart or walmart that is.

what you will be taking is heavy enough don't add to it with a heavy backpack.

now some people will say it is not heavy - but remember on an average date at WDW you could have it on your back for what 7 to 12 hours.

i vote for this kind of bag:

i didn't have an adidas one, but i did have that kind of bag in the parks and it worked GREAT! I'm 20 years old, and the only thing i broght with me was a water bottle, my camera, money, sungalsses and that's about it... i had TONS of room to spare for any suvineers. It's also able to close tightly so it stayed nice and dry on those water rides...!!! and most of them are water proof.

Love the DVC tote but never would take it to the park for all the reasons mentioned. I broke down and wore a large fanny pack this last trip and provided my 2 DS with their own small fanny packs. Not the most stylish but sooo much better than the backpack I usually carry. No one was pulling on me to get into the communal backpack and we could each carry our own necessities. Have fun!

Love the DVC tote as a carry-on or a weekend travel bag. Can't see it as an in-park bag. Even empty, it's big, heavy and bulky.
