Hi,

Quick question...does anyone know if rooms for DVC'rs are seperate from rooms for general guests?

To clarify - I am online at the regular DisneyWorld reservation website right now. According to the site a 2-Bedroom villa is available at Boardwalk Villas June 8-12. Can I assume that there is also availability for a 2-bedroom at BWV is you book thru DVC?

Are there certain rooms only for DVC and others only for general guests at the DVC villas or are all the rooms available to everyone and whatever is available goes to whomever books on first come first serve be it a DVC member or not.

Does this make sense?

I'm asking because my SIL is trying to rent points and was told last week by one person that there's availability for what she wants and then today by someone else that none of her choices were available (basically any 4 days in June excluding Fri or Sat night at BWV or BCV).

I know availability changes by the minute and only a DVC member can check availability thru DVC. I was just wondering if by looking on the regualr website you can get an idea of what may or may not be available based on what's available there.

Thanks for your help!

DVC inventory and Cash rooms available through CRO are seprate inventory and you cannot assume that if CRO has inventory then DVC will.

As for the other issue, it is quite possible that last week there was availability at BWV for a 2 bedroom and this week it is gone, there may have only been one 2 br available and a DVC owner called and reserved it. DVC availablity changes day to day.

No, rooms available for cash through CRO are something separate.

DVC rooms are available only through MS. A certain number of rooms are held by the developer and thus, rented out through CRO. Those aren't really part of the DVC inventory. In addition, DVC does release rooms back into CRO inventory about 60 days out as well as for members who have "traded" there points for other vacations (not DVC stays).

You are right when you say that availability with DVC changes regularly and that rooms can be available one minute and the next gone.

Wishing her luck!!

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. SIL wants to go in June and just began looking into points and such a couple of weeks ago. I don;t tink she yet realizes how important it is to book early and take the rooms when availability is there.

She is looking for any 4 nights in June (excluding weekend nights) and wants BWV or BC - which I know are tough to get this close to trip time. I mentioned that chances are better that SSR or OKW will be available as they are the largest DVC resorts - but she wants BWV or BC.

I recommended she send the DVC member all her options for stay so they can check them out.

What about wait listing? Can she ask the DVC member to book her at SSR and waitlist her at BWV? If so, I told her she may have to be willing to rent the amount of points needed for BWV which can be more thant SSR and eat the cost difference if BWV don't happen.

I am assuming June is a busy time for DVC - does anyone know which times of the year are slower for DVC - her children are re school age so she doesn't have to worry about that.

Thanks

The other thing is that many renters have a no refund policy. She would wants to make sure that she was okay with staying at SSR or OKW if the waitlist doesn't go thorugh.
