DVC AP or Tickets

Am I wrong to think that a DVC specific AP or ongoing ticket package should be released if AP's aren't coming back soon?

I can't see buying 3 separate 7-10 day ticket packages in the next 12 months and I know lots of others are in a similar situation with many visiting even more. I hope Disney figures out the AP situation soon, otherwise we're going to be staying onsite but visiting non-Disney theme parks on some of these trips.

My answer to the lack of APs is to level up my DVC accommodations and make fewer trips. So I'll be taking one trip in a larger villa with a better view instead of 3-4 trips in smaller accommodations with less stellar views. That means we will purchase 4 day tickets instead of APs if we even buy tickets at all and enjoy more resort time. Since we're staying 1/3 the number of nights, we're eating in restaurants 1/3 the number of times and spending 1/3 the amount on airfare.

We have been talking about this as well. Kids getting older. We can’t borrow points like we have planned. I’m about ready to rent out points. It’s just not worth it.

Would it be nice? Yes. Do I think we should jump ahead of others? No.

But getting another discount on multi day tickets like FL residents until APs can be started seems like it should be doable.

My position is that Disney can sell Annual passes right now and simply chooses not to. I don't see it as jumping ahead of others but absolutely agree that we should at a minimum get discounted tickets like FL residents for the time being. I believe that it's going to push more people to not only UOR but also Sea World, Busch Gardens, etc.
Why Disney prefers me to spend $5k+ at UOR instead of WDW in 2022 I don't get but that's what will likely happen if AP's don't return soon.

Sorry for so much negativity on a forum for Disney fans but I'm really tired of Disney's lack of communication and bizarre decision making at WDW. We prefer WDW over UOR which is why we bought DVC but it just seems Universal is handling things much better than Disney currently.

Shucks… I guess I need to check. Was not aware Florida residents had a deal going.

That is what I did with this years points and next years. And we will vacation to other places.

I mentioned this in another thread. What we plan on doing is spending less time at the parks and more time visiting other Orlando attractions. This is something we have never done as it has always been convenient to just remain on property.

We will be going for 15 days this fall. A 10 day ticket is the max we could purchase but decided not to. So we have a car rental and plan to finally visit Universal. Looking at Sea World and some other Orlando attractions.

I am not DVC but feel the same about APs in general. We went to Disney for the first time September 2018 loved it then went August 2019 and again in November 2019. We had a trip planned in May 2020 in which we were going to upgrade our package to APs but then that trip was canceled. Since then, we bought APs to Universal and have gone December 2020 snd February/April 2021. I’ve been wanting to go back to Disney but they aren’t offering nearly what I need to make it back. I can imagine it’s even more frustrating for DVC owners! Hopefully they will bring back APs soon for y’all and everyone else!

I definitely think they should sell again to all. No need not to as capacity is back up.

But, you asked if DVC should at least be eligible even if others are not so that’s what I meant by jumping the line.

Hopefully next month!!!
