Due to a Christmas basketball trip in 2017, and a Spring Break trip, this option was the best. I hav a few questions.

1. Do I need all those in my party with the APs with me to activate? Magic bands?

2. Do they need to bring photo ID for those that have photo ID?

3. We are staying at BWV, is the IG, the best place to do this (I know it's the closest) or would you recommend going to DHS?

4. How does Memory Maker get linked?

Last time we bought APs they were mailed.

Thanks

1 and 2. Yes, as to adults (18 and over) who will need to show picture ID's to establish addresses are the same as member, and you need to also show your member card. They will be on magic bands once they activiate the APs at guest services or a ticket booth. (The Magic Bands are just communicators; they communicate and have on them whatever exists in your MyDisneyExperience account, where your passes will be shown. For example, if you make a last minute change to a restaurant reservation or a fastpass+ in MDE, it will be instantly recognized by the magic band without doing anything to the magic band.)

3. IG is one place to do it, and it is generally easy to do there as well as other park entrances.

4. Automatically when you activate the APs.

They don't mail anything anymore. Make sure you currently have all AP's that you bought listed in your MDE account and that they are assigned to whom you want them assigned in your family and friends list.

You don't get "Memory Maker." You're allowed unlimited photo downloads with an extended expiration date from the Photo Pass site. It's very similar, but it's simply a feature of the annual pass, not an additional product.

Okay, but you wouldn't need to purchase MM, correct? Still get ride photos & videos, Magic Shots, etc.? Considering APs for next trip due to length of stay, then would have if book in 2018.

I know officially it is not called "Memory Maker" when attached to the AP and is just part of photo pass, but as far as I have been able to tell, after having Memory Maker in the past and now the AP photo version, there is only one noticeable difference of importance between the two. Like Memory Maker, you get all your photos taken within the parks, including on rides and magic shots. The only difference of importance I noticed is that Memory Maker gave you 45 days after leaving WDW to download your photos and the AP version gives you a year.

Last time we activated our AP we were not all together. I had one son come up a day late due to finals. There were no problems.

Think my confusion is the Memory Maker / PhotoPass. even with my 15+ trips, I have a hard time explaining the difference.

Memory Maker is a product. PhotoPass is a system.
