First off I am an new DVC owner. After 17 years of crunching numbers finally our debt load is in a place that we could afford to purchase. :yay:

So on with my question?. I have un-used days left park ticket and wanted to know if they could be applied to the purchase of an DVC AP? Also when purchasing my AP is it done by member services or from guest services at the park?

TIA

You cannot upgrade any partially used ticket if it was first used more than 14 days ago. So unless that's the case, you're out of luck for the upgrade to an AP.

I just purchased my DVC AP at Guest Services at the park, but I believe you can order a voucher through Member Services as well (if you order, you get a voucher that you exchange at the parks, so IMO, you might as well just get it at the park when you're there).

Thanks for the reply, I think I am good.

These tickets have never been used. We were at WDW on free dining and had our AP so we did not use any days we had on the tickets.

Since they have not been used already, they can be applied to the cost of an Annual Pass. You can only do the upgrade transaction on-site at any Guest Relations location or Theme Park ticket window.

Here's the link to Cheshire Figment's Ticket Thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

He is a WDW Cast Member. Post 15 in that thread deals with ticket upgrades.

You should be fine then as the PP said - from your original post, I thought you had days left over on used passes.

Yes OP, as mentioned you can applied the value of your unused tickets to the price of a DVC AP. You must do it in person at any of the guest relations windows (all parks and DtD). We've done this many times.

If possible, you should use the ticket before you upgrade it. That way, it "locks in" the current gate price and that is what you will receive when you do the upgrade to an AP. If you don't use the ticket prior to upgrading, you will get what you paid for it. Depending on how old it is, you may get quite a bit more $ towards your AP by using it in a turnstyle before you upgrade.

We are new DVC, too. Have not purchased any tickets for our stay, because there is a possibility that we may be able to get a complimentary one day Park Hopper, so that leaves us two days uncovered. (This was a quickly organized trip, and we have 2 days in another part of Florida.) If I am reading all this advice correctly, it doesn't seem like there is any DVC discount for a 2 day pass, is there?:confused3

My second question- is the Annual Pass a Park Hopper, or do you have to have that as an add on? :surfweb:

I might be getting more confused the more I read:scared1:

The Annual Pass is a park hopper. The only DVC discount is $100.00 off the Annual Pass. There is a Discount off the Premium AP, but I will let someone else tell you what that is. We have never bought it.

The PAP discount is $125 off the adult ticket. DVC price is $399 AP and $504 PAP + tax.

I would keep the unused tickets as long as they are non expireation tickets.
We still used some we bought 10 years ago at a very low price compared to today. In fact, that is all I buy - non expiration tickets.
