DVC annual pass renewal and fastpass+ ?

Please help...I am so confussed...I have been to disney over 30 times, and I am trying to understand this fastpass + stuff..

OK,,, here goes....I got an email today that I could put in for my fastpass+...My trip is January 10th.

I have annual passes...which expire Jan. 5th...so I was going to renew them when I was down there. So how would I put in for my fastpass+ since I will not have my new passes that I will use until I am down there?

OK so if I can put in for them now..which I thought was to soon from what I have been reading...If i use my annual passes I have now...that will not be my tickets that I have when I am there for my trip...

So if I have to use my new renewal passes...i still can't get them until 30 days before...and they expire Jan 5th...so how would this work..

I am so not liking this...I have tried and tried to link my reservations to my disney magic app...and I can not do it...i have tried everything..all my passwords are the same..and my phone numbers..

Any info would be really appreciated...

You cannot make FP+ selections until you renew your AP. Renewals can now be done 60 days before expiration so you should be within that window now.

I have a similar problem. My APs expire on Jan 11, the day we arrive. We are just going to do hoppers, though. Not sure how that's going to work.

We just got back this past Sunday - how depressing to leave "home."

I renewed my AP the beginning of October and linked it to my magic band with the confirmation number. I picked up my new AP on 10/31 and all of the FP+ selections I made from home carried over and we had no problem at all.

You cannot make any FP+ selections without linking with a ticket number or a confirmation number to the band.
