:goodvibes Allright, allright, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm new.

We should be able to make reservations for our first trip home in about two weeks. I was thinking I will make a ressie for OKW and try to get in to AKV for September if I can and cancel OKW. (If I can't stay at AKV I think OKW will be very nice also)
Anyway, what are the rules about DVC and the dinning plan? As I understand it, I have to buy tickets to make it a "package" in order to reserve the Dinning plan. (we already have some unused days on our non-exp. 10day tickets) If this is true, does it have to be one ticket for each person on the DDP, or can we get away with one 1day ticket and 2 adults on the DDP? (I am guessing , no)
Also, if we are staying at a 1BR, does anyone have an opinion (ha ha) on the advisiability of the DDP. We love the DDP normaly, but I'm not sure if it will save us money if we stay in a 1br. I'm also not sure if we will actually want to go back to our room to prepare a meal, but it will be our first DVC experience so who knows.
I suppose I am interested in knowing if other people actually use the kitchens, or if they plan on eating in the room but actually eat in the parks anyway. We are 2 adults- no kids.pirate: princess:
Thanks

If you are staying at a DVC resort on points, then you do not need to buy park tickets to get the DDP. It's one of the perks of being a member.

When you make your Ressie tell them you wnat the dinning plan. I think this year it is 38.99 a person per day (no tax) or about. Everyone in the room needs to purchase the dinning plan for the number of nights you are staying and it is payed for at check in the the reservation needs to be made through MS prior to check in. Saving money well it depends if you wnat to cook or not? keep in mind you do get discounts on some restuarants mostly for lunch though... Personllay i purchased the DP when i went last DEC. and found it to be to much food and by the ened of the trip I did not save what I thought I would have it was s avings but I would not order desert with lunch and the snacks were not needed. The worse part for me was having to have ADR I like to eat when I want and most of the time I would rather have a sit down big late lunch and a smaller dinner or just desert later on.
You can and I would suggest getting berakfast items like bagles etc and having breakfast in the villa a few days as OKW and all DVC have a limited breakfast selection unless you want a TS which gets to be to much for the whole week-- for me at least.
