What is the routine for entering the UK from the USA regarding Duty Free?
We have an internal flight from Gatwick to Aberdeen once we land from Orlando. I have heard anything bought in Duty Free in Orlando will be taken off you at Gatwick if that is not your final destination.

So how do I get perfume, alcohol, etc. from Orlando to Aberdeen?
Seems impossible unless bought in the stores out there and packed in your suitcase. As far as the Duty Free is concerned it might as well not be there !!
Have heard so many stories about people having their purchases taken off them, just because they have an ongoing flight.

We did internal flights last year from Orlando/Gatwick/Newcastle, we managed to keep hold of our duty free, with no problems

Special information for transit/transfer passengers

If your journey involves changing flights at any EU airport, special restrictions apply. You may only take liquid items (for example duty free) through the security search point at your connecting airport if:

they conform to the requirements for passengers departing from EU airports as set out above; or
they have been purchased airside at another EU airport, or on board an aircraft operated by an EU carrier. You will need to show proof of purchase to demonstrate this. Liquid items in excess of 100ml purchased from other airports or on board other airlines may only be carried as hold baggage on the connecting flight.

So looks like a no go for Duty Free from the USA, if it is over the set sizes, unless you can collect your hold luggage and recheck it in for the internal flight.
