Duplicate characters

I was just wondering about this.
Are there ever two of the same character out meeting people?

For example, if Mickey is greeting guests in his house in Toontown, can you find another Mickey in a distant location, like in front of the Mainstreet train station?

I'm thinking they would be far enough apart where parents could easily explain that Mickey walked backstage from one area to another.

If Disney does not allow two Mickeys (or some other character) to concurrently be in the same park, I wonder if they let one be in Disneyland and the other in DCA.

But I've seen Mickey on Main Street and then went to his house and he was there too.

I think Mickey is always in his house? The only reason why I think this is "okay" is because you have to go through his house and his movie barn and wait in that looonnggg line, and you can't see him from outside his house anyways, you know what I mean?

We just saw Mickey in toon town (no in his house... because it was in refurb) in his regular outfit... and then left and saw him again out by the entrance in the YOMD outfit... now in theory it could be explained that he changed clothes and beat us out to main street... but that's just the story for the kiddos I think!

Well I was at the parks Friday and took a picture of my Niece with Pluto on DL main street. Walked over to DCA and there was Pluto again and not because he followed us.

Yes, there are definitely duplicate characters. You can have Mickey on Main Street DL, in his house in TT and even over at the Drawn to the Magic show (or at the Disney Visa Meet & Greet) all at the same time. Mickey has several different costumes (Sorcerer, YOMD, Band Leader, California attire, etc.), so it's pretty easy to have a variety of them out

I always assumed that Disney was a little strict with this, just so parents don't have to explain that Mickey magically can be at two places at a time..

When we were there in December, Minnie was in her winter outfit in TT and the parade was starting, and her handler lady made an announcement that Minnie was only going to be out for 5 for minutes, then she needed to leave to go be in the parade, and then she would be back.

You're right that they can't be visibly out in the same park at the same time. However, as others have stated, Mickey is in his house and then on Main Street -- two totally separate areas. Minnie can also be at Plaza Inn at her breakfast and also in TT in her house at the same time.

Very true!

But I'm sure it's very well planned, so no two Mickeys can accidently run into each other. That'd be scary.
