We made reservations for partial, we are in a pop-up that has shower and toilet. Plan on using comfort station has much as possible but with little ones cassette toilet will be used too. Is it really "OK" to dump the cassette in a comfort station toilet? (if ALL the full hook-up sites are full). Thanks for the info!

We went last Thanksgiving week and stayed in 1500 (partial hookups) in our pop-up. The Fort was at capacity (especially between Thanksgiving Day itself and Sunday). There is always a full hook up site open SOMEPLACE in the Fort that is unoccupied that you can use. I found a site in the 1600 loop next to us. Usually in the late morning after people have checked out and the new folks haven't checked in yet is the best time to snag one.

Technically I suppose you could use a comfort station toilet but I wouldn't. Just load the tank in your vehicle/golf cart, take your latex gloves and blue magic liquid and start hunting for an empty site. It'll work out - it always has for me.

Enjoy your time at the Fort!

I have a Thetford 2-piece portable toilet in my camper and I often use the comfort station toilet to empty mine. However, I use it only for liquids, never for true "black".

what about like water used to clean dishes and what not? I will be tent camping in either may or june ( i might be moving my ressies up... havent decided yet) and I plan on spending more time just kinda hanging around and going to star wars weekend but I want to do a lot of my meals at the site... do you just dump the water at the comfort station?

Yep, there is a large sink in the laundry room of each comfort station that is good for dumping dish water.

One tip though, to keep your dishwater from being "chunky", wipe out all your dishes first with paper towels and throw those in the trash.

Do not string your bilge hose, or drag a tankwagon, in or through those areas of the comfort station where campers usually traipse.

Dish water and shower water may be dumped in any location black water is permitted and also in other areas designated for this "gray water".

What? Wash dishes on vacation? :scared1:

We use paper plates or styrofoam. Cups and silverware get washed in the camper and graywater (minimal as possible) captured in a bucket outside the popup. Graywater can go in the laundry room sink (as Carol says) no problem.

I washed some pots/pans from Thanksgiving in the laundry room deep sink but we used plastic k/f/s, styro plates, and paper cups for the wine and sodas (served 18 people including cooking a 22# turkey).

Blackwater (as the OP said) should go in an empty site with full hooks IMO. I suppose you could PLAN B it and use the potty at the comfort station but it would take multiple pours/flushes to get a full Thetford down. I prefer one "flip and forget" on the full hooks  Plus, our rule in the pop-up is #1 only in the casette potty; for #2 you need to head to the comfort station.

My plan is to use an empty site. Didn't think about the check out-check in time frame. Saw a couple of post here through search that said dump in toilet, that's why I ask if "OK"...seems odd to do. Thank for all the relpies!!!

as long as you have a way to transport. Also there is a water hose to rinse out and clean up with. We have never had trouble finding an empty site.
