I guess I have only flown during summer and I never had to think of this before but here goes. When going through security, do you have to take off your socks along with your shoes? I'll be flying with my two daughters and don't want to hold up the line too long. Thanks

Socks stay on! :sunny:

Thanks so much! I've always avoided it in the past by wearing sandals but can't really do that in November.

even if you wore sandals, "All foot wear must be xrayed." :confused3

It took me two trips to the airport and stand around in my bare feet before I could remember to wear socks. Even in the summer!! I get those little Peds thingies...anything to avoid walking through that area in my bare feet. I also wear my clogs, either regular ones or my Crocs...easy off, easy on.

Well, yes and I slipped them off my feet and put them through the x-ray. I wasn't sure if socks had to come off too. I didn't want to have to bother with socks if I had to take them off and put them on three sets of feet if that was the case. I want to get through security as smoothly as possible. I told you it was a dumb question but now I know.

It was NOT a dumb question. Trust us - some poster will let another poster know if a question was dumb! ;)

I didn't know that you got to keep your socks on. I was planning on wearing my sandals just to make it easier since I thought that you had to take your socks off. But now that I know that I don't have to walk across that gross floor in my bare feet, Keds it is!!!
