Just wanted to share my exciting news with you all!!!
I am getting married!
My DH who is really my common-law hubby gave me a engagement ring for Christmas!!
Now we have been together for almost 12 years but never got around to making plans for a wedding!
So he surprised me with a ring!
So now I get to do planning of another sort!
I would wish for a Disney Wedding but it is wayyyyy out of our price range!
We are thinking of somewhere in the Caribean or maybe Vegas-we'll see, teee heee heee, I have lots of time to plan as it will be at least a year and half!!!
I would love to hear from anyone who has gone away to get married!
Guess I will have a whole new type of album to scrap!

Congratulations! My SIL got married in Vegas. The chapels there in the casinos are really nice, not like the tacky ones you see in the movies. They rented a suite for a sort of reception afterwards. Then we all went down to the casino and played. The only negative was that we were all scattered around when we went down to the casino. Everyone had a great time. Good luck with your plans!

My DH REALLY wanted to get married in Vegas (he's been there several times for Billiard Tournaments) - I have never been and pictured 'tacky but fun' but when I looked it up online it looked like there were great options! I know someone who did a 'period' wedding in costume while they were there! Great pictures!
We didn't because of elderly relatives who needed to be there!But I wish you all the luck in all the planning!

if you wanted to do Disney, you could always have the wedding in Orlando but not actually in Disney. My sister in law just got married in the Kraft Azalea Park which is in Winter Park and it looks beautiful (unfortunatly I wasn't there but I have seen the photos)

The last time we went to Vegas, we took our 6 mos. old son. I'm not a big gambler anyway, so we spent a lot of time walking and looking. Just walking around the casinos and their shops is cool. You could also take him to Red Rock Canyon, which is beautiful and even Mt. Charleston, where you can go skiing. We toured the Hoover Dam, which was cool and the back of the MGM has a theme park with a few rides. There is a lot of stuff to do with a kid that age. Go by Circus Circus and check out the Midway. Most all of the casinos have video game rooms, if you're willing to let him loose in there. They also arrange baby sitting services, if you want to do that.

One of the stylists at the salon I go to did the wedding in Orlando/honeymoon at WDW route. I don't remember the exact place she used but remember her saying the woman who coordinated it was wonderful - even helped her set up an appointment with a great hair stylist when she arrived. Also she said she found much of her initial information on the internet.
