duct tape

I was wondering that myself!?!

I saw someone ask on another post and the reply was various things, from taping the wardrobe doors closed etc when the seas get rough and also taping the curtains in the porthole rooms closed as the can sometimes slide open.

Anyone any other suggestions?

We didn't bring it and we didn't need it. The closets have a velcro strip on the doors so they stayed closed and we didn't have a problem with the drapes staying closed either.

I've never brought duct tape either and never missed it.

It would seem that it's a needless thing to pack. I'm sure that any "problems" that one would encounter could be pointed out to your stateroom attendant who would take care of it.

As for the closet doors, I've never had a problem with them "flying" open. They seemed pretty secure to me. However, if they did, I would guess that the stateroom attendant could take care of it. The drapes can be kept closed with a simple safety pin. (Which is a lot easier to carry on a cruise than duct tape.)

Plus, duct tape leaves a nasty residue where it is used. Would those who duct tape-up their stateroom also duct tape-up their own bedroom at home?

Never brought duct tape and never needed duct tape.

there was half a velcro strip but not the corresponding half on the closet doors. We used the tape and it did not leave a residue. we used it for something else too, but i've forgotten what in the two weeks since we've been back.

Amen, ThreeCircles. As a manager of university facilities, I think duct tape should be sold only to people who can prove they will not be using it on walls, doors, windows, floors, ceilings and furniture that does not belong to them. I would NEVER DREAM of using duct tape at a hotel, so why would anyone use it on a cruise ship??

Good heavens.

We brought it and used it also. My DH's belt loop broke on formal night and looked silly just sticking out. I pulled off a bit of duct tape and used it to keep the belt down and it worked, all night.

We also found a velcro strip on the closet doors in our room 6547. We therefore did not need the duck tape that we bought. I believe the stateroom host would help if you really need some tape.

Someone said they had to bring hangers. We simply ASKED our stateroom host to bring us more and he brought us 10 more right away.

The only reason for bring duct tape along is so you can tape up your stateroom host, stuff him/her into a suitcase and bring him home with you:teeth: :teeth: NO. No. NO. Just joking - if you stuffed him into a suitcase how would your luggage make it from outside your door on the last night and down onto the dock in the morning:confused: Gotta think of another plan.
