The quick question:
Can anyone recommend someone who does DTG printing for custom T-Shirts?

The long story:
I'm taking the family to Disney World next month (September 2014). It will be our family's "Last Hurrah." Our son (24) is getting married next year, and our daughters (22 & 21) are graduating college and heading off into their careers. So this will be our family's final time to vacation with just the 5 of us. In fact, with the busyness of our increasingly independent lives, it's been almost 7 years since we've actually vacationed all together. So this is a pretty big deal.
I wanted to surprise everyone with matching T-Shirts for the trip. I've done some freelance graphic design, so it was fun coming up with a "Last Hurrah!" image that I'd like to place on the back of the shirts. But I thought it would be fun to get each of the shirts in a different color, and to put each of our favorite Disney characters on the front. (It just so happens they're all from the 100-Acre Woods, too. So that's cool. I'm Tigger, my wife is Pooh, our son is Rabbit, and our daughters are Eeyore and Piglet.)
I have even created original graphics of the characters so they're all matching in style. Everything was done in Adobe Illustrator, so they're high rez vector images that can be exported to just about any format.
However, I need someone to print the shirts. (And, hopefully, at a good price.) Seems to me that DTG printing is probably the best for a small order, and I've seen web sites for some DTG printers around the country.
I actually was inspired by a post to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, where the representative encouraged a reader to make custom shirts with their favorite characters. But a couple of printers I've spoken with are hesitant to use the images (and I understand their caution).
I guess the ideal situation would be to have a friend with a DTG printer to do it for me. But in the absence of that, I'm hoping that maybe I can make a new friend with a DTG solution (or a friend-of-a-friend) here on the boards?
