DTD to Monorail?

We won't be visiting a park our first day at WDW, staying at POR, decided to take the bus to DTD for awhile, then the kids want to ride the monorail to GF to watch Wishes. How do we do that?

Well the only real way of getting to a monorail from DTD, without going into a park. Is to catch a bus to either the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary. You could also catch a bus from your resort to Epcot, then take the monorail to the TTC, then switch to the Magic Kingdom Resort Monorail.

I would hop on a Contemporary bus from DTD. Then, you could catch the monrail from there to the GF. But I think the view of Wishes is better from the Polynesian. So, you could do a complete loop on the monorail then get off at the Polynesian. If you take the bus to the CR and hop on the monorail there, the stops that follow will be....TTC, Polynesian, GF, MK, CR...stay on until it goes back to the Polynesian (or GF, your choice).
