DTD Store & Gift Cards

Does anyone know if the downtown disney store would accept disney store gift cards? We received 3 large ones for X-mas and I would love to use them at the store instead of using them to purchase tickets before we leave home.

No.

The Disney Store gift cards are currently valid for purchases made from the Disney Stores, Disney catalogue & Disney online.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that change soon due to the takeover.

I have been successful in the past using a DS gift card to buy Disney Dollars at a Disney Store. With the takeover and also many stores being out of Disney Dollars, YMMV on this.

I would say no, because The World of Disney is Disney owned, but Disney Store is owned by Childrens' Place. The one in DTD is a World of Disney, like the NYC store.

You could always give them a quick call and ask!

I asked @ the DS if I could use a gift card @ Disney World and was told no....wish they would though, because it is so much easier then carrying around disney dollars.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought of trying to get disney dollars but that may be the best option if I can do it. Thank you!!!!
