OK, so I know its not finished yet, but here's a mini-rant about DTD and the new Garage.
Val & I, along with Yvette and Emile headed to DTD yesterday (Monday) about noon. Y&E were wanted to go to guest services to buy an AP voucher so our intention was to go to the GS location near World of Disney.
From our house we took a route that brought us along some back roads to SSR and thence to DTD. This brought us to the end of DTD nearest Hotel Plaza Blvd. From there we proceeded at a stop and go pace past closed entrance after closed entrance until we got to the new parking garage. Due to lights and traffic this short stretch took us 15 minutes.
Now a geography lesson, the parking garage is actually closest to the west end, rather than the WoD end of DTD where we intended to go. At this point it made more sense to go to the guest services location in the Disney Quest building. So, as it turned out it would have been faster and easier for us to just head to the West End of DTD in the first place (we would have taken a different route) and parked in the surface lots there. We would have saved much time doing that.
On a bright note, we did have a nice lunch at Splittsville, but it will be a long time before we venture back to DTD.
