Where do you like to eat that is a decent price? We're staying in the area unexpectedly and won't really be doing Disney but would like to incorporate a little Disney. Thought we'd eat there a few times usually we do trex. What else would you pick? Does anyone have input on the boardwalk area and beaches and cream? Would the boardwalk area be fun for an evening or not so much?

We like Big River Grill. Its "bar food" but a little better. We have always had good, decent food and service there. And we like sitting outside looking our over the lake as a added bonus! They have entertainers that are on the boardwalk at night that do shows.

We enjoy going to the Boardwalk for an evening! The entertainment is a lot of fun! Just make sure to bring cash if you want to play the games. You could also walk over behind the Swan/Dolphin and play Fantasia mini-golf.

I'm not a big fan of Beaches and Cream. The food is really mediocre. If you want to eat at the Boardwalk but don't want to spend an arm and a leg, Trattoria al Forno is good. Boardwalk Bakery also has great QS options, plus pizza, funnel cakes, ice cream, etc. on the Boardwalk. For better food and ice cream, check out the Fountain at the Dolphin. Other restaurant suggestions - Capt. Grille at YC is very good, Kimono's at the Swan has GREAT sushi, the buffet at Garden Grove at Swan is good. If you don't mind spending more, Flying Fish, bluezoo and Il Mulino are excellent. Big River Grille is ok IMHO.

Boardwalk would definitely be great for an evening so would highly recommend it. There's not a ton of options that will feel Disney for dining that are super reasonable table service, most are a little higher end. On the higher end Flying Fish is our favorite, the Yachtsman is great for steaks, and Bluezoo is usually quite good a well. Really any of the signature in the area you can't go wrong with.

Beaches and Cream is a fun setting but food isn't particularly exciting. The boardwalk has their bakery which does have some good sandwiches, but not much seating right there. There's also pizza on the boardwalk at a counter, we enjoy it pretty well many don't like it. There's also a few other options at the boardwalk, the brewery and ESPN neither have much Disney feel but are reasonably priced dinners.

DTD I'd go to Wolfgang Puck Express. Very good food and reasonable prices (I suppose) for a Disney restaurant. We are trying Raglan Road for the first time this trip and it gets good reviews and you can eat there for around $20 a person. We actually like to grab a bite to eat at the Crew's Cup Lounge at Yacht Club - a limited menu and pretty small but the food is pretty good. We prefer there to Beaches & Cream.

Maybe Boma or Sanaa at AKL. Sanaa is similarly priced to TRex, and you could go to the campfire after and watch the animals on the savannah. The bread service is wonderful and great for sharing.

Or you could do another meal at DTD like Splittsville or Wolfgang Puck Express. Then you could take the boat over to Port Orleans and see Yeehaw Bob perform at no cost. It's in a bar area but its super kid friendly and there are always lot of children around.

Boardwalk area we LOVE Flying Fish, but it is a bit pricier. We also go to ESPN several times a trip when we stay at BWV, and we have also been to Big River several times. All great choices.

We always stay at the Boardwalk lots of fun great places to eat and tons to do

We love Raglan Road and Wolfgang Puck's at DTD! The Boardwalk area is really cool too - not crazy about the TS options there but we love the Bakery and food cart. Also, I agree with the PP about the AKL option. If I was going to be at Disney, but not really doing the parks, I would definitely visit AKL -- so beautiful and exotic, with the animals, great dining options, activities, just gorgeous.
