How far away from DTD is the crossroads (walking distance)?

Also do any of you know the nearest supermarket to DTD (Publix or Walmart) or another one that I have forgot. Just to pick up basic supplies like water, milk, and breakfast bits. Thanks

Hiya,

There is a Goodings at the Crossroads if that helps?

As to whether it's walking distance of DTD or not I think it depends on when you go and who is doing the walking ;)

I would say adults it could be 15-20 mins? It's not that easy to cross the road at the top though I don't think.

I think it may be closer to 30 mins walk (never done it but have read about it) and aparently the path is well lit and maintained.
The goodings at the CRossroads is meant to be very expensive

I have walked from the Grosvenor Resort to Crossroads - a few years ago with a grizzling baby in a buggy! It was a lot farther than I expected - and I like to walk! It was at least 30mins - probably more, so would be 40mins plus from DTD and it was really hot as well - it seemed like a good idea when I started!! It is easy enough to walk along the pavement and was very safe, but the road over to Crossroads was a death trap! Cars EVERYWHERE!!!!

We have done this walk regularly. It is about 20 mins from Crossroads to the nearest point at DTD i.e the "Marketplace" end. Westside is another 15 mins or so further on across car parks or around the lake.

The road outside Crossroads is very busy and those crosswalks are long :earseek: . The bit down hotel boulevard is quite shady and pleasnat wneh they have the water sprinklers going on a hot day.

We love the walk. The restaurants over there are much cheaper than DTD and probably have a better choice.

We have bought into DVC and will probably stay at Saratoga Springs Resort most years just so we can walk to Crossroads. You can always get a cab back with the savings from the cheaper restaurant if you are too tired or drunk to walk back!!

We love Goodings too as we love their Bakery and cheese selection. Found their prices cheaper than the UK and love the atmosphere. Wish I was there now!!!! Roll on October 2006!

:cool1: The walk is at least 30 mins but its not an unpleasent walk. Whilst there TGI Fridays is great value for money especially if you have kids in tow.

As people have said, Goodings is in Crossroads, but there is a store with a much better selection that is about another quarter mile away...
when you come out of that exit of WDW, you turn left and then drive straight down that road for about a quarter mile. There is a nice Winn-Dixie on the right side of the road. It had a much better selection than the Goodings.

Uhm not heard of Crossroads, can u plz tell me wots there and how 2 get 2 it as we're stayin at SSR in April and sounds like its worth a visit

DTD to crossroads is approx 20 minute walk. Why anyone would want to walk it is totally beyond me. I sometimes struggle to drive a car over that junction let alone try and walk over it! Anyway best supermarket in the area is definately Winn Dixie. There is also a Publix on Vineland Ave which is the road that goes past Bahama Breeze and runs parrallel to the I4. As for Crossroads we had most of our meals there. There is a Red lobster, Denny's, TGI, Chevy's, Olive Garden and so on. Also in the area is Tony Romas, Pizza Hut, Outback (near the publix I mentioned) and macaroni grill.

If you like walking, like a drink and like a cheap meal this is the place to be.

We will probably staying at SSR for two weeks at a time and will make a change for a few nights instead of the prices at Disney. I just love walking especially when I have had a drink as I hardly notice it. DD 11 puts up with it!!!

We always walk to and from DTD from the Crossroads area it takes us 20 mis but we are quick walkers. If you have time take a look in the pond next to the junction there is a turtle living in there and some other local wild life too!It popped up to say hello when we walked by and disappeared again. There are lots of shops in the area, another good supermarket can be found just next door to Dixie Stampede called Publix-great value groceries, if you don't want to go to Goodings, and they have a pharmacy too but you may need car if you go it's quite a walk!Pedestrians have right of way when crossing junctions near right turns. You'll see what I mean , just watch out for the walk buttons and make use of them but be quick crossing!!

Forgot to say ther's a Jungle Jim's,Sony camera shop , hair salon, Ice cream and frozen yogurt shop,Card store with Disney ornaments etc, TGI Friday's, Chevvy's, and close by on the other side a little further up the SR535 is Vista Centre shops with a very popular Cici's pizza Mini market irish pub etc and on the way you'll see Burger King, Pebbles, Olive Garden etc it's worth a look!www.woolbright.net/noflash/vista/vista.htm
