Hey everyone. I stayed at this hotel 8/21-8/24 and wrote this email to the manager...I figured since it was pretty much a review that I would post it here as well.

Mr. Aycock,
I am writing this email to let you know that your staff provided spectacular customer service during my stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Disney.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel 8/21-8/24/02. This was not our first time at the facility and will definitely not be our last! I actually have already booked a reservation for us 12/16-12/19/02 as well.
This continued business is not only due to the great rates and wonderful location, it is due to your incredible staff!

The first night that we stayed there, we came in drenched from a typical Florida afternoon storm. It was nearing the end of the manager's happy hour special and we were greeted enthusiastically by the Tipsy Parrot as well as a server carrying complimentary beer. I declined a beer and asked if there was a place to get something hot to drink (the a/c and wet clothes were not a good combination!). Not only was I directed the the self service coffee bar, but the server insisted on getting my coffee for me. Just after he walked away, the bellman appeared to help me unload the car. Being that my car was right by the front door (within eyesight), I instructed my daughter to stay put. When I returned, the Tipsy Parrot still had her arm around my daughter (they had been dancing) and my coffee was sitting on the table ready for me (with cream and sugar!!)! It was such a fantastic feeling to know that the staff cared so much about our comfort and safety through these gestures.

Our stay had originally been booked for just 2 nights however, I realized that it would be much more logical and comfortable to stay an extra night. The front desk supervisor (Arlene, I believe) was kind enough to secure the additional night for us at the same rate! I truly felt like hugging her!

Besides the aforementioned examples, each staff member that I came into contact with was extremely pleasant and hospitable (even if we just happened to be sharing an elevator). The room was cleaned superbly each day and was comfortable and spacious. The view also happened to be fantastic, as we were able to watch fireworks from the balcony!

I hope that this level of service continues and that I may be able to spend many more nights at the Downtown Disney Courtyard Marriott. Mr. Aycock, you should be proud! Please pass this on to the staff, as positive reinforcement is deserved.

What a nice letter! I am glad to hear it is such a great place. We will be there in less than 3 weeks

:D Thanks for sharing your letter with us. I think it was very nice of you to take the time to compliment the hotel for a job well done!

I agree with you 100%. We just returned from this hotel, and we found the staff there to be exceptional. Our room must of been one of the renovated ones as it was very nice, roomy and clean. I would call housekeeping for extra washclothes and as soon as I would hang up the phone there would be a knock at the door.

We had a great time and would stay there again!

I agree also, everyone I remember from check in (Trudy), to the managers reception (Albert) to our waiter at the restaraunt for breakfast (William) were wonderful people.

Here's some info I received from the general manager yesterday:
the rooms have not been renovated at all yet. I believe beginning next month they will begin to change over the airconditioning for all rooms. After the airconditioning is complete, they will begin renovating the rooms 1 floor at a time beginning from the bottom up. The rooms being unrenovated are better than alot of the cheaper hotels I've stayed in in Orlando. The hotel was tons better than my stay across the street at the Best Western a coupla weeks ago. In fact the occupancy level at the Best Western over Labor Day weekend proved it, the occupancy at BW was only 9%. Although the occupancy at the Courtyard Marriott was only 50-60%. The economy & people frightened to travel close to the 9/11 attacks were very apparent to me this weekend.

Tarasmom... we had a wonderful experience about a week prior to yours. I would love to write and let them know how much we appreciated it... would you mind sharing the address?... you may PM me, if you like!

This is the reply that I got when I asked for an address via email at www.courtyardorlando.com (which is the email address that she talks about in the email below...wow, that sounded confusing! Just email to the link on the website or use the address below...ok, that's better!)
