DS's 3rd bday while at WDW

Any suggestion to make DS's 3rd bday extra extra magical? He will be turning 3 our first full day at WDW. We are staying at AKL. We are planning on MK the first day with dinner at Crystal Palace. I know about getting him a button at City Hall and I plan on ordering a specialty bday cake for at dinner.

Any other ideas?????

I am curious to read about some ideas too. Our dd will turn 3 on our trip in May (we, too, are staying at AKL). I think you can tell the resort at check-in that it's your son's birthday, and they may do something special for you. I've read that they may leave balloons in your room, or at least a signed card from a character, since I think balloons are banned at AKL. And you can also order a birthday cake at the restauant.

We will be letting the front desk know at check-in what day it will be for our dd's birthday. Then, we will get the button for her at MK that day, and also have dinner at Chef Mickey's. I may order a cake as well for her.

What can be more magical than starting a trip at Disney on your birthday? It will be hard to top that!!

I'm anxious to read the replies. My ds will be turning 12 at WDW this year. I plan on getting him the badge at guest relations and telling the check in CM that it's his birthday. I think I'll also leave a nice tip for mousekeeping with a note asking them to make him an animal towel, if they can. Not sure what else to do. He's asked to eat at Mexico's sit down restaurant (can't remember the name right now) for his birthday dinner, so I figured I'd also buy him a souvenir from there as a birthday gift.
