DS was fully trained for months. All of a sudden he's having accidents. He pee'd in his pants at school two times today. He did it 2 times yesterday too while spending the day with Grandma.

We've tried talking to him, making deals, offering rewards, and have even threatened making him wear diapers. Nothing is working. He'll be 4 in December and honestly he wasnt this bad while we were training.

It doesnt seem to follow much of a pattern either. Although when he's at home it does seem a bit worse than at school.

Any advice?

Mine is doing the same thing- more so with #2- had him into the MD last week and because he just started pre-school (he'll be 4 on 12/30) the dr thinks this is the issue and told me that boys especially regress after a change- as in pre-school. Good luck!

I'm not sure of the answer.
But, on Friday I took ds (4) to a birthday party. I was chatting with the other moms, and a LOT of the kids have started having accidents, even though they are potty trained. Some of the parents think it's the excitement of the classroom, others think it may be the bathrooms are scary and different.
DS isn't having accidents, but he's afraid to close the door!
I wouldn't be too worried.

This was precisely the case with my DS. he was fully trained and when he started school, a couple weeks later he started having numerous accidents. We were very careful never to yell at him or get angry and the phase just passed on its own. Rather quickly actually. :thumbsup2 I think the more you show you are upset or make threats it just prolongs it. JMO, take it as you wish.;)

My kids have both been through phases like this. It's sometimes linked to stress, but sometimes it seems to be totally random. It's like they just go through a little regression. Just be consistent, patient, but firm with them about routines for potty, etc.

My youngest is currently going through a phase, actually!

My ped actually warned me about this. My ds will be 4 in January and I haven't started him in preschool yet. I was more worried about behavior and then ofcourse about potty training. DS is good if we are out somewhere but seems to have accidents when we are home. Laziness is definitely part of his problem. He's suppose to start preschool Tuesday and I'm super concerned about him having accidents there. I'm actually having second thoughts about having him start just because I'm not sure he's actually ready and the accidents will probably come and I think the teachers won't want to be dealing with this (my dd goes to this school in pre-k). DD was super easy so this has been a bit stressful for me. She was trained 2 yrs 8 mos and at 3 yrs 7 mos I'm still having difficulties with DS. I feel your pain. I do know that children tend to regress at times when there has been a change in their lives...maybe because of school??? Hang in there this too shall pass :goodvibes
