I have posted this in several threads but thought I might get the most activity here.

I am the single parent of a DS who is 9. He is very responsible and looks about 12. Our problem is that when we go to the parks he loves water rides. I can ride them once maybe twice but beyond that I'm done with them.

Would you let your child ride a ride by themselves? I would stay in line with him then get out when it is his turn and wait for him at the end of the ride. Am I crazy? Would this be safe to do?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I do that on kiddie rides. I wait in line with him, watch him get on, and then walk to the exit to wait for him.

I don't see why not. If your going to stay in line and then wait for him where the line comes out, he should be fine. The CM will direct him out so there is no way to leave other than they way he is supposed to.

Yup, I agree -- no problem if he's responsible on the ride (meaning he'll keep his hands/arms in the car/boat, etc) and you're going to stay with him in line then wait for him to get off.

Like other posters have said, if you feel he's responsible enough to ride the ride without getting up or sticking his hands out, I think it would be fine. Last year we let our kids (7 & 4 at the time) ride in front of us on the Buzz Lightyear ride, because they really wanted to and we felt they were responsible enough to behave themselves, which they did:D
