Actually this is his second graduation. He went into sales selling RV's after 9/11. With the economy growing at the time, and people afraid to fly, RVs were flying off of the shelves. When gas prices went up, there was some impact so he decided that he needed a career which wasn't quite so dependent on the economy. He started taking the prerequisites for an allied health career and was initially interested in xray technology, however after exploring respiratory care, that was the direction he took. He left his job and for nearly two years has devoted himself to his studies. They started out with 28 students. They finished with just about half of that number. He will be graduating with a 3.99. He had a 4.0 until this final trimester when someone who "never gives A's gave him an A-". No shame in that! ;) He received an award from the Ct. Respiratory Society for Academic and Clinical excellence. He and another student; his "study buddy" took the CRTs last Friday and they both passed. So far they are the only ones to have scheduled their exam. He hand delivered his license application to the Dept. of Health and is awaiting the letter of verification from the board. Right now he has a 20 hour per week job with per diem hours. They anticipate that it will go full time before the summer. He also has three other job interviews.
The graduation ceremony is in June. Hurray!

Congratulations to you son! It just goes to show you that hard work does pay off! :cheer2:

My DD graduated in Dec with a degree is Special Ed. She's been working as a long-term sub since then and was offered a teaching position for next year in a different district. :)

Sounds like you raised up a fine young man, and you (and he) have every right to be proud. Congratulations!!!

Good for your DD! DS#3 has been working as a permanent sub since he graduated from college. His degree is in history. I wish he would go back to school to get certified but he has 'other plans'. ;) I think substitute teaching is a great opportunity to learn flexibility and gain experience.

Love to hear the success stories:) Good luck to him in his new career. I work in the health field as well and respiratory therapists (though I'm not sure this is what he is) are always in demand here!

Congrats to your DS and the force behind him :thumbsup2! So is this 2 family members in the medical field now? It sure does a parent's heart wonders to know they are on a chosen career path and headed in the right direction. Good wishes to him on his endeavors and wishing him the best life has to offer! :goodvibes
