Drunk folks at DL/DCA on St. Patrick's Day

Yesterday I was talking with someone I'm acquainted with who's a DCA CM. She said that there were a lot of drunk people at both parks on Saturday (St. Patrick's Day). That's not a surprise, really. But here's something that may be. She explained that drunken (and other poor) behavior in the park(s) can result in the revocation of guests' APs. In fact, she said that she sees that happen three to four times a month for various reasons. To have it reinstated, certain criteria must be met. I've never seen that happen, fortunately, because I almost never see bad behavior in the parks. About a year ago I did see a guy who was probably drunk get escorted out of the park. I'm not a drinker myself and I can't understand why anyone would come to the parks hammered. Unless, of course, they have a serious problem, I 'spose.

I was there on Saturday 3/17, and honestly, we really did not see anyone who was overserved. I guess we did leave about 4:30, so maybe it got worse later on in the evening. We had a great day there and were pleasantly surprised that the crowds were not too bad at all. And I agree with you, I do not understand going to the parks to get drunk or hammered. But like you, I am a total non-drinker so I probably just don;t get it. It is why I avoid weekends at Epcot during Food and Wine since I have heard a lot of stories about the drinking around the world.

I was not there on Saturday but there have been times in WDW where in Hollywood Studio we saw a few drunk people around Christmas vacation.

I don't understand it either, I get having a drink and enjoying yourself, but being drunk where kids are having a family vacation is not the place... I was in line for World of Color Dessert Package on my last trip in January and there was some guy in line in front of us who was wasted, he dropped one of his two beer and it soaked my leg. I didn't get a sorry nothing, AHH all the girl with him could say was could say to him was ohhh are you ok. I tell ya lots of deep breaths stopped me from saying what was going through my head... some peoples children lol

OMG I would NOT have been able to hold it together (and as a result would have undoubtedly gotten myself in trouble).

DLR is actually (thankfully!) quite strict about drinking and drunkenness in the parks. I know someone whose AP was suspended because she was caught drunk at DL. She didn't cause any harm to anyone, but drunk she was. And she got caught. DLR is also vigilant about underage drinking (for obvious reasons). The penalties are immediate and serious.

It doesn't surprise me. Some people don't want to go to Disneyland and they are only going because another person wants them to go. Disneyland is very loud and chaotic. I can see where someone who likes to drink a lot and doesn't like Disneyland would get totally hammered there. I'm glad they get kicked out. I hate it when drunk people barf on the ground and then walk away like nothing happened.

Drunks at DL? I have seen several, all were escorted out by Security. Witnessed a couple Pick-Pockets, both were escorted to side areas by Security. Need Security at DL? Tell the nearest CM you need Security, it's that simple ::yes::

Losing your tickets for drunken behavior? If that were the case at Epcot, they'd be revoking APs and tickets every hour.

At a Halloween party in 2016, we were in line for PotC. We were a few groups behind a very loud and clearly inebriated group. Right after we entered the building, one of the women in the group vomited all over the floor. Everyone behind her had to navigate around the mess she’d made and it was disgusting. I’m all for people having a good time, but people should know their limit!

I don’t think people are being ejected from the park or having their APs revoked just for being tipsy, but if their behavior negatively impacts other guests’ visits, then I think Disney is certainly justified in taking whatever action they see fit.
