Hello,

We are going to WDW in october - staying at POFQ.

We wont be renting a car, so I'd like to know what the on site shop sells in the way of health products?

I suffer from IBS and lactose intolerance, so would need medication for these (eg Lactaid/Digestive Advantage), which I know there is a much better range of in the states than the UK so would rather buy it once I get to Florida.

Where is the best place for me to head to?

Most of the resorts on Disney property have a section in their gift shops for drug store type items. I would think that these items would be readily available. You can also purchase these types of items in every park. Select gift shops within the parks have these items.

They do sell medication in the resort gift shops and in the parks but the selection will be limited. If you want a little bit more options there is a grocery store just off property across the main road from the DTD hotels. You could catch a taxi for relativley cheap from DTD if you need to.

I was just @ POFQ and their little shop has a random selection of drug store items... and there will always be one shop in each park that will have such items as well. I don't know that they had Lactaid brand, but they had something for it --- we were looking for mylecon drops, and I remember seeing something.

If all else fails, you can always do a cab to the nearest drug store (the front desk would know) and stock up!!!

I also think that you can get such items delivered in a grocery delivery --- it seems to me when I was investigating having some groceries delivered, they had pharmacy items as well.....

YUP! I just checked the garden grocer website and they have a full range of pharmacy items!

OOh, thanks guys!!! I was actually considering garden grocer and didn't think to look if they had pharmacy stuff! :)

Yaay! Off to look now!!! xxx

When we stayed at POR a few years ago, my dh forgot his toiletries bag...and it was really really (REALLY) expensive to replace the bare minimum of what he needed to get by (very small sizes of generic shave cream, portable razors, allergy meds, immodium-just in case- and Tylenol- he used my shapoo and toothpaste). I don't remember the exact amount but I do remember saying "How much?!?!" when he told me what he spent (it was in the $50 range but may have included a few more items)....

I suspect you'd be much better off using one of the grocers who deliver....

Goodings, which is a full grocery store, is about a 20 minute walk from downtown disney.

You could also do an order from drugstore.com and have it delivered to your resort. The prices are good and the selection is great. Just call the resort and confirm the address and have it sent to you there. Drugstore.com is usually 3 day delivery for me and free shipping for $49 min order or free shipping at $25 is it's your first order. You could even order your toiletries if you wanted.
