Drug Problem...

I had a drug problem when I was young.

I was drug to church on Sunday morning.
I was drug to church for wedding and funerals.
I was drug to family reunions no matter the weather.
I was drug to the bus stop to go to school every
weekday.
I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to
adults and teachers.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents.

Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin, and if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America might be a better place.
Signed,
Old Fart

So true, isn't it, Liz!!!!!! ? I was just listening to the news earlier today about several teen deaths nearby, drugs. :(

Me too, and I agree 100%. I have neighbors who actually laugh at me and my family because we get our kids up and go to church on Sunday. They think we are crazy.

We are the only family on our block that goes to church on Sunday too. I hate that DH works on Sundays, I really miss having him in church with me.

Me too, Liz, me too. DW also. We homeschool partly because we dont want the kids exposed to the everyday junk that goes on in schools. And yes they are being "drug" to all those things also.
The cool thing is they enjoy going to church. And we started the woodshed thing at a very young age, so now they are not having many trips too it anymore. They are 9 and 11 and they know the difference in right and wrong.
Its nice to go out to eat, sit beside a older couple with fear on their face like "oh no, more bratty kids" then they tell you how well behaved your kids are. Our kids are not "damaged" and they function very well in society. So pooh to you to all the so called child pshycologists.
I will leave it at this: My great-uncle who is now 93 told me when our DD was born that the time to punish children was when they come out. He meant that children from the start now how to manipulate parents at a very young age. And our society is paying the penalty for it now.
