Dropping a day at the end of a ressie...

Okay for our upcoming December trip I have booked rooms from December 8th-15th (Just added on the 7th) but we need to drop the 15th...... Can I drop just one day of the ressie or does the whole thing need to be cancled and rebooked.....

My fear is if it is the later..... I will loose the rooms altogether..... coz I know there are people out there waitlisting for them.....

I have scoured the guidebook but cant find the answer....

I just made a change to our reservation this afternoon without a problem. We dropped our first 2 nights of our stay, and added one night to the end of our stay. We still have the same confirmation number and everything, so I'm sure you would not have a problem.

I just made changes to our Feb ressies today. We have two nights @ AKL Concierge followed by 5 nights @ OKW. The CM @ MS told me that they can amend ressies @ DVC properties at any time - (you keep the same confirmation # edit -I don't think this would have been true if I had asked to change resorts ). For non-DVC properties they have to cancel and re-book (new conf #).

We just dropped one day off the end of our ressie; we had booked it for flexibility until we could make definite plans for visiting relatives. (They don't accept 7-month reservations!) It's not a problem, for you or for us!

However the CM had to tell me (with a smile in her voice of course) how she had to disassemble our reservation into its constituent pieces, delete the one day and then reassemble it!

Why? Because our ressie was built up in several steps from a waiting list. Apparently even when it is put together into a single reservation, the bits and pieces remain in the computer forever... It's enough to give a programmer nightmares. Can't anyone write decent software anymore?
