I am just wondering how the drops on these rides compare. For some reason, I have never been able to get myself on Splash Mountain. I don't know what it is about it that looks so intimidating! I have actually been on the Journey to Atlantis ride at SeaWorld which I know is similar. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the JTA drop is technically just a little bit bigger Splash's (because I think JTA is 60 feet while Splash is 52 feet?). Again, I don't know what it is about Splash that scares me! I did handle JTA pretty well. Of course, I screamed really loud and had my eyes shut on the drop but it wasn't awful and I could definitely ride it again. Could I handle Splash if I did JTA? Or is it not just me and is there really something more scary about Splash's drop? Is it steeper or something?

No contest, Journey is a water thrill ride while splash is not. If you handled Journey, you should have no worries. Jouney is one of my all time favorite water rides, even though I got soaked on it!!!

I agree - JTA is a bit scarier or longer than Splash. This is what I do - I take a big breath and then when I start the drop, I slowly exhale. Works very well, although it doesn't make for a great photo!

I was actually quite shocked by the drop on JTA. Splash is tame in comparison.

My 5 yos loved splash, but there's no way id take them on JTA :)

My DH favorite ride is Splash Mt because of the storyline. The water and the drop are very tame - our DS has been going on it since he was 2 years old. It's truly okay. You'll like the ride.

Try it!
