My DH is not a huge park fan, although he puts up with our obsession. :rotfl: Is there a visitor drop-off at DLR where he can leave us off? He'll join us later in the day.

Although we are staying at the Sheraton Anaheim which has free shuttle service, I want to make sure we're at DL early for our MM day.

Yup. The 15 minute parking area. Also shown on this map. Mouse over the center of the map, and it will highlight the 15 minute parking area.

Of course, he could also park for 3 hours for free at the Downtown Disney parking.

HTH,

The walk to the DTD parking is much further than the 15 minute parking. Just FYI. Of course, if he was going to come into the park for an hour or two, then DTD would be the place to park, but if he's just going to pick up the rest of the family it's easier to get in and out of the 15 minute lot plus a closer walk for the family from either park entrance.

If he's just going to drop you, why not right by the Harbor Blvd. bag check, where the shuttles drop off? "C" on Perlster's linked map.

Thanks for everyone's replies. It's good that we have options. As for the above, are cars allowed to turn into this? -- because it really would only be an "open door, toss us out of car" deal.

I had the same reaction -- I was under the impression that cars weren't allowed in the tram areas; but I have no facts to back that up. But unless you definitely know that it's allowed, if it were me, I'd stick with the 15 minute lot.

Of course, I've been known to drop/pick-up at the bus stop on Harbor just north of the crosswalk. But only if I look in my rear view mirror and am sure there's no bus coming my way.

Stick with the 15 minute drop off lot. We use it all the time. It works great for both pick up and drop off when the driver isn't going to get out of the car except to unload. Quick and easy.

Nothing really. Except you will probably get hit by a bus, because that is where the buses from the Toy Story Lot drop off. Or when you get into the area to drop off told to get back in your car and exit immediatly because it's not open to the public.

That's a good way to do it when there isn't a bus coming. While the 15 minute drop off works it can somtimes be a pain because of cars backing out of the spots.

Actually, you'll never make it into the driveway where the buses come in....there are CMs there to make sure of it. That is the reason for the 15 minute parking lot. If they let cars into that area it'd be total chaos....OP may be the open the door and push us out type...but you know there will be the family with 8 kids who all need their strollers, backpacks, water bottles, kisses from daddy the driver and of course granny who isn't going to make it all the way to security without at least three sit down breaks and that doesn't count the 8 minutes to get from the backseat up onto the curb. :rotfl:

Just use the 15 minute lot. That's what it's there for. Tell DH there's a bowling alley at Gardenwalk. Maybe the Angels (baseball) will be playing a day game.
