drop off or go to Avis first?

We are sailing again next week! This time we are renting Avis. The question will come from my dh multiple times as we are en route, so I need to be able to give him a "someone who knows told me" answer!!! Should we have dh drop us and luggage off at the terminal.....then wait for him to be brought back by the Radisson van (assuming he can navigate w/o me ), or should we all go to the Radisson and transfer together from there? How long would we wait for him to get back if he goes it alone? (Really, I love my DH, ...he drives truck for a living and can go from NY to Chicago alone, but can forget how to get to the mall from here! )

Dave has suggested in a prior post that I have DH drop off DS10, myself and our luggage at the port then return the Avis car. Then he would only have himself and no luggage to worry about getting onto a shuttle. We are staying at the Radisson the night before so Im hoping we can sign up for both the Radisson & Avis shuttles? Most likely we'll sign up the 3 of us and then see what happens in the morning?

I'd take the Avis shuttle. It will be less crowded and apparently they do a better job of managing it.

Barb, if you're staying at the Radisson wouldn't you just drop your car off the night BEFORE your cruise? You don't need to pay for the car that extra day, just sign up for the RADISSON shuttle and you'll be fine. They will take all of you and your bags and will drop you off at the port, much simpler.

Pal2pluto, yes, drop your bags off at the port and you can leave everyone but the driver there too. You will be taking the AVIS shuttle, not the Radisson one (they are two separate shuttles) back to the port.

I was under the understanding that the Avis car was rented for 24hr time periods, not by the day. We would be within the 24hr timeframe.

Barb, you are right, the rental is a 24 hr rental so the cost is the same if you turn it in the night before or the morning. My DH and Dad will drop us off at the port, then return the van and car, get the shuttle and meet us. It will be ALOT easier than trying to fit 9 people plus luggage on a shuttle!!!! Oh, just the thought of that.......
