Hi! I'm new to this board & I will be taking my first trip to Disney World Dec. 6th-14th (Me, 5-yo DD & 7-yo DS). I will be renting a car because we're also going to IOA & US for 2 days. What I want to know is, is there anywhere to get a street map of roads & directions within the Disney World ?? I will be staying at ASMo from Dec. 6th-10th and DAKL from 10th-14th & I will be eating at a couple of the other resort restaurants. I need the following directions:

1) From ASMo to Beach/Yacht club?
2) From ASMo to Epcot?
3) From ASMo to MGM Studios?
4) From ASMo to DAKL?
5) DAKL to DTD?
6) DAKL to Chef Mickeys?
7) DAKL to 'Ohanas?
8) DAKL to Blizzard Beach?

Also, we will be doing MVMCP on the 12th, do you think it's quicker to take the bus or to drive?? Does the AKL bus go directly to MK or does it make other stops?? Any help would be appreciated!!

:D

You will be provided with a map of the Disney roadways upon check in.

When you check in ask for a transportation map. It is really easy to get around within the world.

Take the bus to MVMCP. If you drive to MK you still have to take the ferry or the monorail to the park. The buses drop you off at the gate. I believe the bus for AKL is only for that resort so there shouldn't be other stops.

Kate, I have a transportation map which I'd be happy to send you if you email me your address. Might be helpful to look over before you actually get to the resorts, & you can follow along with the directions given on the website. Just be sure to check the map they give you when you check in, in case they make any bus schedule changes.

Directions on roads within WDW property are well-marked. Just remember which resorts are in which area and you should do fine.

Exit the All-Stars and continue straight along Buena Vista Drive. Continue past World Drive, and you will see the Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf and the Walt Disney World Swan on your left. (along with signs that say Yacht/Beach) Take that left.

2) From ASMo to Epcot?
Exit the All-Stars and continue straight along Buena Vista Drive. When you get to the World Drive overpass, take a left. As you merge onto the highway, stay in your current lane. That will end up splitting towards Epcot.

3) From ASMo to MGM Studios?
Exit the All-Stars and continue straight along Buena Vista Drive. You'll pass the Swan this time. At the next intersection, you'll see signs that say "Disney-MGM Studios Guest Parking." Take that right.

4) From ASMo to DAKL?
Exit the All-Stars and continue straight along Buena Vista Drive. Take an immediate left after going under the bridge. Get into the far left lane, and stay there. (That is called the Osceola Parkway) Keep going straight until you get to AK Lodge.

5) DAKL to DTD?
Exit out of AK Lodge, and continue straight on the Osceola Parkway. You may see signs for Downtown Disney. But keep going straight. When you come to the first traffic light, you will notice a big sign for Wide World of Sports on the right. Take that LEFT. That road is called Victory Way, and it will take you by Pop Century, and Caribbean Beach. When the road ends, take a RIGHT. You are now on Buena Vista Drive (and have bypassed most of the traffic) Continue on BVD until you get to Downtown Disney.

A less complicated alternative, would be to get off the Osceola Parkway at the All-Stars exit, and head down BVD from there. However, you will run into traffic this way.

6) DAKL to Chef Mickeys?
Exit out of AK Lodge, and continue straight on the Osceola Parkway. Keep in the far left lane. You will want to take the first Left Exit... signs will say Magic Kingdom. There will be a traffic light on the other side of the road. (Before Wide World of Sports) You will now be on World Drive. Make sure to stay in the 2nd furthest from the left lane. Keep heading towards the MK. When you get to the MK Toll Plaza, bear to your RIGHT. Follow this road to the Contemporary.

(To exit out... you will need to take a left out of the Contemporary, and the a RIGHT at the first traffic light. Follow that road back onto World Drive)

Exit out of AK Lodge, and continue straight on the Osceola Parkway. Keep in the far right lane, and take the All-Stars exit. Take a left at the lights. Blizzard Beach will be just past the bridge.

Take the bus. For special events like that, it's just plain easier. Tram service to the parking lot is often times quite reduced.

Chip 'n Dale Express - Thanks for the detailed directions!! I really, really, really appreciate it. I'm trying to get familiar with the area so I don't get too lost and loose valueable time.

Thanks everyone for the help! Some day I'll be a WDW veteran & can be more helpful on this site!!

;) :D ,
