We're headed to WDW with another family that's first time WDW travelers and we want to make sure to drive under gates when we roll into WDW for the first time. Google Maps is recommended we drive in from 429 to Western Way. Are there welcome gates there or do we need to drive around I4 to World Drive?

Thanks for the help and adding a little welcome pixie dust at the end of a 12 hour drive from Nashville!

Wave as you drive by (provided you are going 24 to 75 :) ) over here in Signal Mountain
There are multiple gates.
Need to make sure you aren't routed through the ones that have construction around them.
When we were there in June the traffic was routed around them.
We haven't driven in a few years so I'm not sure now what that route would take you through, or which gate that was but surely someone here will know and report which one to avoid, if it's still rerouted there.

Last time we drove our GPS brought us in the back way, past the monorail turn around station and back behind Spaceship Earth. LOL No welcome gates but it was a neat way to come in, that's for sure.

Western Way has a nice Disney World "arch" to drive through. (I went through it in July).

(Along with tons of signs telling guests to avoid stopping their car for pictures)

Boy do people still ignore that! Seen more than one horrific rear end crash there. Ruin a vacation before it starts

I wondered why is seems that the number of warning signs increase every year :scared1:
