Can I still get to the fort this way even if it is after MK hours? Do the toll gates block the entrance?

There are no gates so there is not a problem. When the kiosks are manned all you need to show them is your parking pass.

If you are arriving at the Fort to check in they may ask to see your ressie at the toll plaza. Some CM's do, some don't. When we go that way, I have a copy of my ressie ready to show them. If after you've set up and want to go somewhere that requires you to come back thru the toll plaza, just show them your parking pass. Your parking pass also gives you free parking at the theme parks - but you probably knew that already.

Thanks!

Frank, a short and sweet question deserves a short a sweet answer. You did good:thumbsup2

We usually come in the "back way" past Downtown Disney. Take Buena Vista Dr. and make a right onto Bonnet Creek Pkwy to the end and make a left onto Vista Blvd. The fort will be on the right and you bypass the sometimes busy MK tollbooth. ;)

This is the directions I plan to use when arriving at the Fort.

Once we arrive, we always use Disney transportation - except we are attending the TSM Party Saturday and will be driving to Hollywood Studios. On the map, it appeared the most direct route from DHS back to the fort was to enter at MK. We love taking Disney transportation and never drive on property (well, almost never!)

The only drawback to coming in "the back way" if you're checking in is that the turn into the main FW gate is a pretty sharp one and you might need to go waaay wide (i.e., into the lane of oncoming traffic) to swing it if you have a bigger rig.

Just something to keep in mind for any folks that haven't tried this before. :goodvibes
