Driving Time To Parks from Resort

I keep reading that travel time should be figured for an hour or more. We are driving down, and will likely drive to the parks. When we are AoA, which is near Pop, how long will it take to drive to Epcot or HS? Google maps says driving time is less than 10 minutes (I used Pop as the destination since Google Maps didn't seem to recognize AoA.) Can anyone tell me how long the drive actually takes to drive there, park and get to the gates? TIA

I can't recall just how long it takes to get into the parks. But we drove from ASMovies to all the parks last time we went. The drive is very minimal, like you said, 10 minutes. But once you get there, you have to go through the parking gates, park and then take a shuttle or walk to the park, depending on how far you park away from the gate. I could imagine this process could take up to an hour on a busy day....????

If you are using Disney Transportation only, it is recommended to allow an hour travel time to make an ADR. This allows for waiting for bus/monorail/boat, the actual travel time and then getting to the ADR. If you're driving yourself, the travel times you got via google maps are probably accurate. I have always used disney transportation, so I don't know how long it takes to park and get to the gates. But I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

I drive a lot for my work so we always use disney transportation and it's so far never taken more than 30 min to get from place to place. I highly recommend if you're staying onsite to use there transportation.
